Chapter 14

Dan's p.o.v

When school had finished I quickly walked to the gates and waited for Phil. I was starting to feel anxious about our parents finding out.

A few minutes passed before he arrived. I grabbed his hand and we began to walk to his house. We stayed in silence but it was okay. The silence said everything that we couldn't and it felt comforting.

It didn't take us long to reach Phils house from school. Phil guided me to the kitchen where his mum was stood baking.

"Mum, I-we have to tell you something"

"It's okay you can tell me anything" she reassured him.

Phil glanced over at me and him nodded.

"Ermm...well I'm gay" he whispered.

"And we're going out with each other" I finished for him.

"I knew it!" she exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across her face. "I'll tell your father, Phil, don't worry he'll be fine with it too. I'm so happy that you're finally together!"

We all stood there smiling and I let go of a breath I didn't realise I'd been holding. I stepped forward, still holding Phils hand, and we both engulfed his mum in a hug.

Things couldn't have gone any better and now all I had to do was tell my parents...
