After the incident, Athanasia was not allowed to be near the beast or anywhere near the Tower of Magician. To add to her dismay, she was grounded in Ruby Palace.

As a result of saving her, Lucas became her watcher and because these days Elias was spending his free time with the magician, the time Athanasia saw her older brother also increased. Like, right now, she couldn't but keep glancing at her older brother who was sitting and leaning against Lucas who was munching on cookies.

Elias either ignored her constant glancing or did not care. Maybe it was both.

"Consider yourself lucky. You'd be dead if I had got there even a moment later."

Lucas commented nonchalantly.

Athanasia nervously looked at her brother. Just what was he doing in her room?

"Seriously, why are these so good? Ask the maid to bring more of this when she comes in."

The princess was sure that Lucas was speaking to her but Elias was the one who nodded. The raven magician smiled as he picked another cookie to shove into Elias's mouth. The prince opened it before it was forced inside before weakly glaring at Lucas who only smirked and shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, you should thank Elias since I wouldn't have moved to save you if it wasn't for him."

This comment caused Athanasia to widen her eyes in disbelief. That couldn't be. Her brother wouldn't have bothered but seeing that her brother was not negating, it shocked her even more. It was already weird enough with how he was not glaring at her as usual.

Noticing that Athanasia was blankly staring at Elias, Lucas frowned.

"What? You want your brother? Too bad, he is staying by my side. I'll give you the cookie instead."

Athanasia flushed as she snapped back at the magician.

"I don't want that or my brother!"

Lucas shrugged.

"Well, you still got to thank your brother. It is because you keep touching the beast that you were vomiting blood."

Elias nodded as he sat up straight.

"That is right. You shouldn't spend too much time with it. It could endanger your life."

Athanasia felt horror creep up her skin. Really, what was wrong with her brother?

Elias noticed her discomfort and frowned.

"I won't bite so you don't have to worry about it right now."

Lucas blinked, surprised clear in his eyes before turning his gaze away while immersing himself deep in thought.

"I see..."

"What's wrong, Lucas?"

Elias muttered in worry when he saw Lucas lost in thought. The prince gained Lucas's attention but at the same time the raven mage was deep in thought before he smiled. There was something sinister behind that smile which sent chills down Elias's nape but the thrill just excited the prince's heart to beat faster.
