after an hour or so, the two friends had finished putting in their face paint. the both got up and walked over to the bathroom mirror. surprisingly, they did a pretty good job.
"we look great, no?" boris said looking at his small friend in the mirror.
theo didn't say anything. he just nodded. boris smiled.

you see, theo didn't think of boris how boris thought of him. theo loved boris, he loved everything about him. he loved how boris' hair would flop to one side after he attempted to push it out the way. he loved how he would start speaking russian in the middle of a conversation. everything boris did, theo loved. but, theo knew boris wasn't a fag. he knew boris wasn't a fag like him.

theo quickly snapped back into reality when boris held a firm grip on his shoulder. the small boy looked up at his scrawny friend.
"shall we go?" boris looked into theo's dark brown eyes. again, theo did not speak, he just nodded his head.

since theo's parents were out that night (like most nights) the boys decided to walk to the party since it was only a few blocks away. as they were walking, theo's hand kept on brushing against the gentil skin of boris' skinny hand. theo could help but wonder what it would be like to hold hands with him. 'it would be perfect' he thought.
"what potter?"
theo's head quickly shot around to boris. his face flushed red. his thoughts had been said aloud.
"o-oh noth-thing..." theo stuttered. he wasn't a great liar.
"yeah right." boris giggled
theo looked confused.
"i know theo."
theo's face went as white a sheet.
"it's not true boris!! it's just a joke! i don't actually like-"
"potter, it's fine! i know you like this girl whose party we're going to!"
theo let out a sigh of relief. his secret was still safe.
"yeah of course! i really like..." theo didn't know this girl's name.
"kaylee...?" boris said with a slight confusion in his voice.
"yes! yes, of course, kaylee!"
theo let out a huge sigh of relief.
