Storm Hawks: Alien VS Predator

Chapter Nine - A Temple's Fall

After forming an alliance with the Predators, the Storm Hawks and Carth followed the Predators as they placed their Wrist Devices and activates the self destruction sequence. As they reached the final weak point of the temple, Dark was ambushed by a Xenomorph. It wasn't long before a swarm of them descended upon them. 

Finn: Guys! We got bugs incoming! 

Stork: This is seriously bad!

Aerrow: We need to cover the Hunters! 

Carth: Aerrow's right! It's our only shot at destroying the temple!

Carth then rushed to the Xenomorph attacking Dark and strikes it with Orion's Crystal Sword. Just as the Xenomorph was about to attack Carth, Thunder throws a Combi Stick at the Xenomorph, pinning it to the wall. Suddenly, Thunder was impaled by a Xenomorph's tail. Thunder lets out a pained roar as Finn shoots at the Xenomorph with his Energy Crossbow. Dark then grabs the Xenomorph and snaps it's neck. Soon enough, the Sky Knights help Dark clear out the Xenomorphs. 

Finn: Holy crap....

Piper: I...I think we're clear. 

Carth: We're not out of the woods yet. 

The Storm Hawks and Carth soon turn their attention to Dark who was tending to the dying Thunder. Thunder's wounds were too great as he died in a pool of glowing green blood. Dark placed his hand on Thunder's helmet. It was clear to the Storm Hawks and Carth that Dark was mourning the loss of his comrade. 

Junko: That's sad....

Piper: I can't even imagine what he's going through. Losing two of your closest comrades must be unbearable. 

Dark then turned his attention to Thunder's Wrist Device. He then begins activating the Wrist Device's self destruct sequence. Soon enough, loud beeping was heard.

Stork: That's not good.....

Dark then calmly walked over to the Storm Hawks and Carth. He then gestures them to leave. Knowing what was coming, the Storm Hawks and Carth along with Dark began making their escape from the temple. Meanwhile deep within the catacombs of the temple, the Xenomorph Queen could sense danger and lets out a deafening screech. She then commands the Xenomorphs by her side to free her of her binds. The Queen then sheds her ovipositor. As the Queen makes her escape, so do Dark along with the Storm Hawks and Carth. 

Finn: How long do we got before the temple blows?!

Piper: I don't know, but I don't think we should stick around to find out! 

As the group continue to make their escape, Stork turns his head to see the entire swarm of Xenomorphs chasing after them. The seemingly endless horde of Xenomorphs looked like a raging black sea. Stork nearly lost his footing, but kept running. In fact, he started running the fastest he's ever run.

Stork: THEY'RE COMING! 

Meanwhile in all three weak points of the temple, the self destruction sequence on all three Predator Wrist Devices detonate. Explosions soon begin rocking the temple. 

Junko: Guys?!

Aerrow: Keep running! Don't stop! 

Finn: THIS ISN'T GOOD MAN! WHOA! 

A large piece of debris narrowly misses Finn, but the Sky Knight keeps his footing. 

Finn: HOLY SHIT! WE'RE DONE GUYS! GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!

Carth: DON'T STOP! KEEP MOVING! 

The explosions continued to rock the temple as it was being consumed by the plasma fire from the Wrist Devices. 

Aerrow: We're almost there guys! 

Stork: WHICH WAY?! WHICH WAY TO THE EXIT?!

Piper: TO THE RIGHT! TO THE RIGHT! 

Soon enough, Dark along with the Storm Hawks and Carth finally reach the caverns that led to the entrance to the temple. They run through the cave systems just as the explosion finally consumes the temple. Just as they exited the caves, all were knocked back by the shockwave of the explosion. Luckily for them, the caves managed contain portions of the explosion. As the Storm Hawks collapsed to the ground, Radarr chirped into Aerrow's ear. 

Aerrow: Yeah, buddy. I think we did it. 

The only one who remained standing was Dark. He watched without expression as smoke rose from the ruins of the temple. The fire and smoke fit will with the dangerous nature of Terra Gruesomus. Soon enough, Carth got up.

Carth: We did it....we actually did it.....

Carth reflected on the loss of his comrades. Carth mourned the loss of his squadron, but took pride knowing that the monsters that killed them could no longer threaten them. Soon enough, the Storm Hawks began to get up. 

Stork: I can't believe we actually survived this. 

Carth: Could've been worse. We seriously got lucky. If those bombs of whatever they were didn't do the job, we would've been in much more trouble. 

With the Xenomorphs seemingly wiped out, all that was left was the lone Elite Predator Dark. Dark then turned his attention to the Sky Knights and nods in respect. 

Carth: The feeling's mutual. Thanks. We owe you one....

Suddenly, Carth spits blood. Before anyone could react, Carth is lifted into the air, impaled by a Xenomorph's tail. 

Piper: CARTH!

As Carth's lifeless body was tossed aside, the Storm Hawks and Dark soon find themselves confronted by the Xenomorph Queen. As everyone gets their weapons ready, the Xenomorph Queen lets out a deafening screech. 

Stork: Yep. We're doomed. We're about die by a monster. 

Aerrow: Stork. Get to the Condor. 

Stork: What did you say? 

Aerrow: Get to the Condor! We're going to need all the firepower we need!

Without hesitation, Stork makes a run for the Condor. As Stork runs to the Condor, the rest of the Storm Hawks and Dark now face with the Xenomorph Queen.
