The Night After Dream's Death

Nightmare's P.O.V

I sat there in my bed, crying. Dream is gone and it's all my fault. I was such a horrible brother, all I did was hurt him when he needed me the most.

It was 4:00 am, I'm still crying and show no signs of stopping soon.

Suddenly, I felt someone two my shoulder. I looked up, no one was there. I feel a lot of positivity though.

"Dream, are you there? Dream? Please tell me if your here." I as I wiped my tears. I couldn't see anyone, but the positivity is here.

"Dream, I don't know if your actually here. But I just wanted to say...to say..." I gulped. "I'm sorry! You never deserved any of this! You were so amazing! I was just a jerk who blamed you for all my mistakes!" I screamed, not being able to control my emotions.

I heard a soft giggle, it sounded like how Dream use to sound. Then a soft but definitely noticeable golden glow. Then, I saw him.

He was covered in blood and cuts, with a bloody and bruised neck. Right were the noose was.

 "Dream?" I couldn't move.

He moved towards me until he was only a few inches away from me. Then, he jumped towards me and hugged me tight.

"Please don't cry, it ruins your perfect face." He said. I smiled, typical Dream. No matter what, always trying to help people. I hugged back.

We pulled away and I started looking closer at his scars.

"Does it hurt?" I asked.

"Huh?" He asked tilting his head.

"Do those cuts and scars hurt?" I asked again. He turned and looked down at the ground.

" Y-Yes." He muttered. I hugged him again.

"One more question, why haven't you gone to heaven yet?" I asked.

His face, he was in shock, which turned into horribly sad eyes.

"My soul can't pass on yet, I'm stuck as a ghost until I finish my 'business.'" What?!

"What is your unfinished business?!" I practically screamed, he put his hand over my mouth.

"Shhh." He whispered in his soothing and calm voice he used to use when I was having a breakdown.

"That's the thing, I don't know yet." He told me.

"Well, then I'll do everything I can to make sure you can rest!" I said, filled with determination.
