Chapter 8

Dream's P.O.V

Nightmare was out right now with Killer shopping. Everyone decided that he needs to get outside and socialize again. I didn't want to go out, so I sat in his room bored out of my mind.

I looked at his desk, the book was still sitting there open. Maybe I could read a bit! It's been ages since I've read that book!

I walked over and sat down, me and Nightmare finished just the first little bit. So I'll read from there!

I've been saving my money since second grade! Waiting for the day I would get to leave this place!

I made it by mowing people's lawns, babysitting, and birthday money!
After these many years I have made $2,287.

I worked as much as I could every day, I even got a job at a local restaurant for awhile.

All of that work, after all of it I can finally move out.

Me and my friend Abigail have been planning to move out since the day we met.
We're going to get all of our money and move to a nice place somewhere far away from here.

She has a rich family, so she'll probably be paying for most of it. But I'll try my best to help as much as possible!

I looked up at the clock, it says it's 8:23am. But the clock is one hour fast, so it's actually 7:23am. Well, it's time to go. I don't want to be late to school.

It's almost the end of my senior year.
After I graduate I can leave this place behind and start my new life somewhere else.

Me and Abigail have been looking at other places on the other side of the country, trying to find out which is the cheapest and where we could just likely get a job the fastest.

I picked up my backpack and ran out the door and started walking to school.

I would've driven if I had enough money to afford a car.

But someday I will be able to!
I just have to be patient.

Everything will be alright.

Dream's P.O.V

I wish I was like her, I promised Nightmare I would never give up.

And here I am, a ugly, bleeding ghost, reading my favorite book after committing suicide.

When me and Nighty used to read this book he always said how I was like the main character.

When asked why he told me I was determined, positive, and I never would give up no matter how bad things got.

Boy did that change.

I'm sorry Nighty, I wish I could've been the person you thought I was.
