"dear mr. fantasy play us a tune, something to make us all happy. do anything, take us out of this gloom, sing a song, play guitar, make it snappy."

nini was sitting at the same spot as usual, strumming her ukulele when she was interrupted by someone.

"pretty voice you have there."

"uh, thanks? i guess." she responded back as she resumed on strumming random chords.

"no problem, and i still see that you are still sitting in my spot."

nini groaned, "oh. it's you again, mr. 'you are sitting in my spot' welcome back. do you want a cookie?"

"matter of fact, i would want one." he replied back sarcastically as he just sat beside her. "something wrong?"

"no! what? i'm perfectly fine. even if there was, why would i tell you? you're a stranger." nini responded.

"well okay. but we might as well get to know each other now that we're most likely going to have to see each other more often now."

nini furrowed her brows, "what?"

"uh, our friends are dating. carlos and seb."

"ricky?"

"yep, that's me." he responded back. "you didn't recognize me at first?"

"no. i don't like looking at people i don't know straight in the eyes at night."

"well, you shouldn't be alone at night by yourself. it's not safe."

nini let out a sarcastic laugh, "i could say the same for you."

"i-" ricky started, "touché."

"anyways, are you always here? because the two times i've seen you here, you've claimed that this was your 'spot'?" nini asked as she moved around from her spot a bit once it began to feel a bit uncomfortable.

"i always come here at the same time, which is ten pm, and sit in that exact spot you were sitting in. i guess i was just a bit shocked seeing you here since no one really knows this area of the park."

"that's funny. do you go here often? because i always come here around the same time."

"every other day pretty much." ricky said as he sighed.

nini noticed how when he sighed, it sounded a bit stressed, "things at home not okay?"

ricky nodded his head, "yep. my parents fight all the time. i wouldn't be surprised if they got a divorce right now."

"i'm sorry to hear that, ricky." nini said now feeling bad for him.

"don't be. what about you? are you okay? the other day during lunch when you suddenly left, you looked pissed? i guess."

nini shrugged, "my moms. they always want me to get the best grades- it's not a bad thing, it's just that they pressure me so much about it that it's annoying."

"wait did you say moms?"

"yeah. i have two moms." nini replied as ricky nodded his head. "hey, how about we play a game then since our friend groups most likely will merge a bit. 20 questions?" nini suggested.

"sounds good to me." ricky responded. the two just talked back and forth asking questions and getting to know each other.

nini went to get her phone, but remembered that she didn't have it on her, "hey, what time is it?"

ricky grabbed his phone out and checked, "11:32"

"oh shit. i gotta go now." nini said as she stood up and grabbed her ukulele. "here, give me your phone."

ricky gave her a confused look, but handed his phone anyway. nini quickly entered something in and gave it back.

"here, i added my phone number if you ever want or need someone to talk to."

"thanks." ricky replied. "wait, is anyone picking you up?" he watched as nini shook her head no.

"my house is only five minutes away."

"still, it's not safe for you to walk by yourself at this time."

nini yawned, "okay, whatever. i'm tired so let's just go."
