11. Undead

Silence fell over the graveyard as the candles blew out all at once. Rachel waited with baited breath. All was quiet. all was still. Her eyes surveyed the area. The body still lay motionless in the centre of the pentagram. She took long, shaky breaths as she looked around. A vail of darkness had draped her surroundings in a smog of eery foreboding. She took uneasy steps toward the body as she placed down the spell book. She slowly bent down to inspect them body. It lay motionless, it's empty eyes staring up into the heavens. She sighed and stood back up "back to the drawing board" she muttered. As she tried to walk away she felt the cold grip of death clutch her foot. She screamed in shock and stumbled back, falling off her feet. As she looked back she was met with the blank expression of the corpse. She screamed in terror as her body was dragged back and it lunged at her, sinking it's blackened teeth into her shoulder. She struggled as the dead man ripped a piece of her flesh from her shoulder. She wound up a punch and swung into its head. She heard a snap as it's head fell to one side. She threw it off of her and scrambled to her feet. Before it could stand she kicked its head as hard as she could. It went flying across the graveyard. She watched it explode against a gravestone and stopped to catch her breath. She had won.
