Chapter 12 - Night of One Thousand Yokai

Tsunade twitched for a moment as her eyes filled with rage. The group knows what going to happen next, a furious rant from this lady will keep Juan ears ringing. And that is what she exactly did. Tsunade went on for minutes without end, yelling at the top of her lungs about the lies of what Juan just told her. But after her ranting she released Juan and gives him a hug and kiss on the forehead. "At least you are back with me. I know knew you will be back." Tsunade says as she caresses Juan like a baby.

"So, now that's out of the way. . . let us discuss about our old friend Orochimaru." Juan then removes himself from the grasp of Tsunade and makes his way back to a chair. Tsunade scoffs at the name of Orochimaru.

"That stalker and kidnapper just found sound army of yokai and declared himself as their leader. He keeps sending me letters of how he will reunite this land under our rule." Tsunade replies. "That man somehow got strong in his exile. Maybe the yokai gave him power or maybe being a snake shaman improved his powers over time." Tsunade then grabs her hair and she weaves it with her hand. Then she grabs a snail stuck in her hair and showed to her guests. "But I never felt or experience such power ever since I began as a snail shaman."

Juan then looks as Jasmine "Hey Chronicler, you still got that got I gave you?" Jasmine nods and hands Juan back the small box that he handed her during the incident back at Amihan's ship. Juan opens the box and a green smoke came out from the box and a frog leapt out. Jasmine was shocked that was Juan's frog. That frog protected her from the wolves when the devil attacks her and she felt relieved that the frog is still safe.

"Hey buddy! How is your sleep? Did your wounds heal?" Juan stops for a moment to stroke his frog and the frog leapt happily around his shoulder. "I used to be a teacher on this island. People grew to trust me and the royal families introduce me to Tsuande. She taught me the way of a shaman and then I chose to become a frog shaman. Then the royal family gave me, Tsunade and Orochimaru instructed us to be teachers of this island. We taught people how to live with animals and how to defend themselves from any yokais. For a time, they became my closes friends . . ."

Tsunade interrupts Juan and began to talk in angry tone "And that crumbles down when the royal family instructed me to marry you. You see, to make you a legal citizen on our island, marriage is the way. I was instructed to marry Jiraiya and I agree wholeheartedly but that idiot Orochimaru kidnapped me and declared Jiraiya enchanted me to love him."

"So this Orochimaru became even is because of a love triangle? Very cliché." Jasmine wishers to Amihan and she nods. The other guardians start to see the picture too. Orochimaru was in love with Tsunade and went his way to get back at Jiraiya by destroying his image.

"Pardon my intrusions but do you know that Jiraiya has other names and he got a life outside of this island? Like he got another name – Juan" Kislap asked to Tsunade and the lady smiles.

"Yes I knew that. I even knew that he got a family before but I don't care. In here he can live his life in peace and quiet. In here I see what kind of man he is and the royal family gave him a new name to honor his help with us, Jiraiya" Tsunade looks at Juan like a woman madly in love.

"And going back to the topic at hand, after she was kidnapped I rallied my students and went to save back Tsuande from the Orochimaru. I beg him to stop but he didn't give up easily. I told him that I had no intentions of marrying Tsunade but he is enraged and in grief. He keeps shouting that it doesn't matter as the royal family didn't support him as they already favor me" Juan pauses for a while as sadness began to take over his voice. His voice began to tremble and he continues "I gave him all that I can impart. Before that kidnapping, we became close and even treat each other as brothers. We battled bandits together and gave this land that best we can. Fate is cruel to anyone I treat as family."
