Darby's POV
"So, you guys got attacked by the Foot Clan?" my sister Delaney asks. Casey and I nod. We're all back at my house, and Casey and I just got finished explaining how we ended up in the hospital to our families. I also explained why I have a cast and crutches, and now Delaney is signing my cast, along with Casey.
"Yup, but Casey really saved my butt back there." I say with a smile to Casey, which he returns. Delaney looks at us with a raised eyebrow and an amused smirk on her face.
"What?" Casey and I ask in unison. Delaney just smirks and shakes her head.
"Nothing." she says and walks into the kitchen. Hm, weird. Suddenly, I hear my front door be thrown open and who would walk in but...Becca. She runs over to me and hugs me tightly.
"Dammit, Dam!" she yells as she hugs me like she's never going to let go. She says that to me a lot when I do something that scares her or mess something up because my initials are DAM.
"Hey, Becca, nice to see you." I chuckle as she lets me go but grabs my shoulders.
"You gave me a heart attack, Darbs! Delaney told me you got attacked by the Foot and were in the hospital, so I rushed here." she says, and I turn to glare at Delaney in the kitchen, who gives me a smug smile and shrugs.
"Yeah, well, don't worry, Becca we're fine. In fact, Casey's the one to thank. He really saved me back there." I say, and Becca looks at Casey with disbelief.
"Casey? Our Casey? Casey Jones?" she asks and Casey frowns.
"Hey!" he exclaims.
"Sorry, Casey, it's just hard to believe that you, well, did something right." Becca says and Casey scowls and mutters something about never being appreciated. Suddenly, we hear the tv turn on and see Delaney watching something.
"Guys, come here! You made the news!" Delaney tells us and we all go to look at the news report.
"And in other news, two teens, Darby Manchester and Casey Jones were attacked by members of the Foot Clan today. Both teens managed to escape with only minor injuries and the NYPD was able to successfully apprehend the Foot Clan members. We talked to an officer who escorted the two teens to the hospital, and he assured us that the kids were ok and that the Foot Clan were safely apprehended." The station plays a clip of an interview with Officer Hannigan, and as Officer Hannigan begins talking, I notice something weird in the background. Looking closer, I realize it's four green...creatures...jumping across rooftops. My eyes widen and I go to take a second look, but the interview ends and the creatures are no longer on the screen.
"Well, at least we don't have to worry about the Foot Clan terrorizing anyone for a while now." Becca says, and we all agree. After the news report ends, Becca and Casey decide to head home. As Delaney goes up to her room, I whip out my phone.
"Who can I call about those creatures who won't think I'm crazy?" I ask to myself as I scroll through my contacts. Becca will think I'm joking, Casey will think I hit my head and am seeing things, Delaney probably won't open her bedroom door if I go knock. Hmmm...who to call? Then it hits me. I diall a number and put the phone to my ear.
"April? Hey. I need you to come over. There's something I have to tell you."
A/N well, there's the rewrite of the deleted chapter. This is basically the idea I had, but the original chapter was a lot better. Anyway, since it's my birthday, I thought you guys deserved a gift from me! I'm even feeling inspired enough that I might write another chapter. But I'll make sure it saves this time.
