On the next morning every visitor in the hospital room was asleep. The first one to wake up was Steve. Why? Because he got a phone call from his collegue, Kono. She had good news. Well maybe good was a bit to underrated. "Good morning boss. I know it's really early and you probably didn't sleep much but you might want to hear this. The HPD was able to arrest the guys who shot Marissa. They are behind bars now. Only thing missing now is their statement but that probably won't be a big a big deal cause they are intimidated of the whole situation." "Thank you Kono." He hung up the call and talked to Marissa. Or himself. No one really knows. "Hey, we fund them. They won't going to hurt you ever again. I promise. Please wake up. Do it for your parents." It was more begging than whispering. A begging for her to not die. Even though he knew she wouldn't die. The doctor said that she is going to be alright. They just don't know when.

I could her a familiar voice. I don't know what person belongs to the voice. I only know it's not my parents' voice. the voice was too far away to understand to words. But the way the not understood words were spoken was clearly discernible; it was a supplication; a very great supplication. I wanted to get to that voice. To its origin. Even though I was walking I didn't move. My finish was with step further away from me. Like the seeming giant from Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver. Don't ask me where I know this from. My mom always read my goodnight stories from foreign books. She said it's good for me. I wanted to see her. I missed mom and dad. I just wanted to see them one last time. I gave up. I gave up moving towards the moving away from me voice. It was too exhausting. I fell on the ground. I wanted to sleep. There was this darkness that seemed so inviting.

A little while later a nurse came into the room to do their normal routine. She didn't get irritated from the visitors. She checked Marissas' pulse, her blood pressure, changed her infusion, checked if there were any other problems besides the known. There weren't. Gladly. They could use a lot right now but not another health problem. The nurse left the room and just right after Brooklyn woke up. "Are there any news?", was the first thing she said after waking up. "Not really." Steve wanted to wait until they had the statements from the culprit before telling Brooklyn the news. It might be too much for her. "I am going to go and grab some coffee. Do you want to have some too?" She nodded quietly. It was totally normal for a sixteen-year-old to react that way to a traumatic event that happened to a close friend. Steve opened the door and closed it again after exiting the hospital room. Walking down the white hallway completely alone was like in a dream. He knew exactly where he needed to go. He had been at this place too many times. Most times because of an accident.
