**CHAPTER 1**

"Good morning!" "Good morning po Ma'am!"As those loud and noisy words fill the entire classroom, I'm reading my school notes. I've always been an elite in our class, not that nag aaral ako so I could be. Life is just boring without competition. If I can remember correctly, the top scorer in our entrance exam is a girl. Narinig ko din that she's a pretty famous one, and ako, who never liked attention directed at me, will never want to have anything to do with her. Seriously, attention directed at me is my only weakness. I hate it! Like really.

Before our class begins, we have free time to study, kwentuhan, play games. The first day of classes is awkward(it isn't for me, it's just, I can feel the atmosphere). "Hoy, Chrome-chan!". Someone's calling me, "Chrome-chan, naririnig mo ba ako?". "Ano?" Oh, si Akazuki pala, my best friend.

"Have you heard of the mysterious beauty na lumipat ng school papunta dito from an all-girls middle school?"

"Oh, the top scorer this year's entrance exams?"; I might've sounded uninterested there, sana di niya nahalata.

"Wait, Chrome-chan, di ba yang kwintas mo from the Murasaki foundation?"

"Oh, you mean this?" I've always had a necklace on me since kabataan ko, something's written on it that I can't even read, puyat siguro gumawa nito.

"Well, I'm off Chrome-chan"; the girls are coming in here soon for their next subject."

" Ok, maybe I'll be at the rooftop!" And so, natapos ang usapan.

As I'm walking upstairs to the rooftop, I heard a voice in my mind calling for me, "Hey Ku-chan, Why don't we hide at the rooftop so my dad wouldn't find us playing?". The voice sounded so familiar that I couldn't deny the fact that it wasn't just a dream that never occurred in my life. It felt like hallucinations, but it was too nostalgic to be one. I've never felt anything like this in my life. I thought that maybe inaantok lang ako, that's what I thought.

Before I touched the doorknob to our school's rooftop, I heard a faint voice,

"Hey Ku-chan, can you smile for me? I'll take our picture in case lang my dad and I need to travel for his work." "Alam mo ba? My dad is a very diligent man; he always comes first in terms of productivity in his company, I wish I can be like him someday, and I want to have children, and work, and a cute house, and a maybe a car din. Maybe, with yo-"

Before the voice said the last word, I accidentally stepped on a plastic bottle. "Oh sh- the girl must've noticed me." I tried to descend on the staircases as fast as kaya ko. Before I reached the next step, nagbukas yung pinto.

"Hey, you."

I turned my head backward. There's someone; atop the staircase. She was beautiful; her dark-purple hair fluttered to the summer's warm breeze, her body has the shape of an hourglass, her face was like an angel's, she's beauty incarnate, someone impossible for some boring classmate na katulad ko na maabot.

"Sino ka, and why are you here," she asked.

"Uh, I'm-" my voice cracked; her presence sends chills to my spine, makes every inch of me shiver.

"Ako si Kiryuu, Kuromaki." I accidentally said my pen name instead of my real name.

"Oh, and that leaves my second question."

"The rooftop, I'm here to rest."

"Oh. Then I'll be off."

As she walked past me, her hair was swaying like an angel's wings, it's fragrance soothes your soul, it's a nostalgic feeling I have never felt. I went to the school's rooftop. The summer breeze blew, an envelope, sealed with a crest that looks the same as the one in my necklace, flew in my direction.

The paper in it has some kind of scent that I remember. I was considering if bubuksan ko ba. But it felt to me that it isn't the right time to open it. I looked at the backside of the envelope; may nakasulat na pangalan doon.

"Is this a trap?" I never knew that that encounter will completely rewrite fate.
