Chapter 8- Hello late night ice cream!

Everyone came in shortly for dinner, Noah sat right next to me and Amy next to him. Yeah, we were going to act as his shields tonight.

The only thing that I was hoping for was that for Chloe to not sit in front of him but how could I even get this one wish? Of course Chloe would sit in front of him! Why wouldn't she? And so she did. The rest of my family also got settled in.

"I made both vegetarian and non vegetarian food as I didn't know about your preference Noah. If you are vegan, I could still quickly whip something up for you. Someone didn't care enough to mention about your favorite food items." my mom said, eyeing me while saying the last part.

"I eat everything Mrs. Davis. I'm not a picky eater or even vegan so I guess that's why Avani didn't mention anything. " Noah replied.

"That's good then because mom's butter chicken and kadhai paneer are to die for." my brother, Asher gushed.

"And with the butter naan, it's going to taste out of the world." Amy literally moaned.

"And don't worry, I've made non buttered ones as well if you don't like any kind of fat on your food like my son." mom added.

"It's Indian food, more the butter and ghee, better the taste. " mom continued.

"That's right Mrs. Davis. And I'll have those buttered ones. I absolutely love butter naan. And butter chicken and kadhai paneer. I should just say I love Indian food." Noah beamed.

"And Indian girls." Amy coughed out.

Haha.

Everyone started eating soon and the dinner table was surprisingly quite. I never expected soo much of calmness for when I was going to introduce a boyfriend. Heck, I imagined something like a cold war. Ok, that's clearly an exaggeration but yes I did expect a lot of question answer things going on.

"So where do you work Noah?" my dad asked.

So it's started now.

"H&C company sir. I'm in the sales and marketing department. " Noah answered.

"Good. Good." my dad nodded.

"You know, he doesn't just have a good job, he's good in sports as well. He goes to the same stadium where I go with my friends to play football. He's even going to come to see my next game." my brother said with so much excitement. I guess he's just excited to meet someone sports crazy as him.

Neither my parents nor I were interested in any kind of sports, but we supported him in any way that we could of course. My parents were never the type to discourage us in anything that we wanted to do.

I looked at Noah with one raised eyebrow and he just shrugged back.

I know he is not obliged to do anything for me or my family but he also better not make any fake promises to them. I'm already doing enough for that. I really hope he keeps that promise to my brother.

The rest of the dinner went on very smoothly with everyone just asking Noah a few questions about his parents, school, college, etc.

"Scrub faster Amy, please." I literally begged Amy. She was scrubbing the dishes while I was washing and drying them.

"What's the hurry Av? Scared about what our families are doing to Noah in the living room?" Amy asked.

"Yeah." I sighed. "No. Ok well kind of yes. Hoping he doesn't have a slip of tongue and the lie comes out. Not tonight at least. "

"Don't worry, as far as I know our parents, I'm pretty sure they are not torturing your fake date. Rather they might just be pampering him to keep him with you forever." Amy laughed.
