I LET YOU WEAR
MY FAVORITE SWEATER

DECEMBER 23rd
"i know mom," corbyn sighed. his hand brushed over the rails of the balcony, scraping the mounds of snow down on to the sidewalk below. it was essentially pointless because the white flurries were still coming down pretty heavily. there was no end in sight to this storm.
he continued to listen to his mother's rant, taking a glance at daniel who was on the other side of the balcony. he finished his call a few minutes ago and was staring over at corbyn. "i'm sorry...yes mom...we'll be fine, it's just really cold," he shivered. daniel walked over to corbyn, wrapping his arms around the boy to try and give him some warmth. corbyn chuckled, looking up at the blond. "yeah yeah...i love you too mom...yes i'll call you when the powers back...bye."
"she mad?" daniel questioned, sweeping his hands over the hoodie corbyn was wearing so he could wipe some of the snow off.
corbyn fought daniel's hands away, "kinda. i think she's just upset that i won't see her for another couple of days instead of today," he replied before returning the favor for daniel. he reached up to card his fingers through daniel's messy hair, brushing away the snow. "how about your mom?"
"disappointed. i am too though to be honest. it's the first year i won't spend christmas with my family," daniel frowned, "but it is what it is. let's get inside and get warmed up a bit, your face is bright red," he laughed.
corbyn playfully punched his shoulder before following behind the boy. his limbs were starting to feel stiff from the frigid temperatures though, making walking increasingly difficult. "daniel slow down!" he called. the younger was already in the hallway while he was still making his way out of room 309.
"hurry up slow poke!" daniel teased before opening his arms up for the boy who was nearing towards him. "i'll carry you back princess." corbyn cringed at the nickname, but nonetheless took daniel's offer. he jumped into his band mates arms, being draped over his broad shoulder, so his upper body fell over daniel's back. "you need a diet," daniel fake panted as they approached the room. corbyn harshly dug his elbow into daniel's spine in retaliation to his words. "i'm kidding, i'm kidding," he chuckled, setting corbyn back on their bed, "your perfect."
corbyn blushed, but it went unnoticed because his face was already frozen red from being outside. "let's change into some dry clothes," he suggested. daniel threw his bag on the bed and whipped a pair of his sweatpants and a new hoodie at corbyn. "i can wear my own clothes," he commented. the thought of being wrapped in daniel's clothing did sound pretty soothing though.
"oh shut up, you would've begged for mine either way princess."
"stop calling me that!" corbyn whined.
the two dressed into their new clothes, feeling immediate relief. the power was still out so they continued to sit around and be lazy. corbyn scrolled through his phone, checking his feed from the last time his phone had service while daniel hummed some melodies and worked on a few lyrics.
"i'm bored," corbyn huffed, throwing his phone aside, "can we go get stuff from downstairs?"
daniel agreed to the boy's request and pulled on his shoes before they took off down the hallway which had gotten significantly darker. it was pretty eerie to say the least. "this is some horror movie type shit," corbyn mumbled, walking closer to daniel's side. he pulled out his phone flashlight, frowning at the fact he only had 37% battery left.
"don't fall down the stairs," daniel warned, knowing how clumsy the brunet could be. corbyn scoffed, beginning his journey down the dark stair well, only to stumble half way down. "do i really have to hold your hand like a four year old?" daniel chuckled. he took the boy's cold palm into his, dragging him down to the bottom floor.
down in the lobby there was a table set with many of the items devyn had mentioned. board games like monopoly, life, and clue, lay amongst the white table cloth in one section, while another held a box with many dvd's. towards the right side of the table we're candles, lighters, matches, and flashlights.
"i say we take this one and this one and this one," corbyn pulled out three movies from the box. home alone, home alone 2, and home alone 3. daniel smiled at his choices before grabbing uno cards, two flashlights, an assortment of candles, and a lighter. they piled their findings in a paper bag that had been set aside.
"hey corb, you should get us some food from over there, i'm gonna go talk to devyn," daniel said, pointing to another long table of food. corbyn nodded and took off, leaving daniel to search for the nice receptionist. he walked to the front desk, peeking into the back room. inside he spotted her, kicked back in her chair, resting her feet on top of a desk. "devyn!" he yelled slamming his hand down on the assistance bell.
"oh my god i was about to take a nap," she groaned, walking over to him, "what do you need?"
"how long until the generator gets fixed? corbyn's freezing cold, i want to see clearly again, and my body is begging for wi-fi," he complained, pouting at the girl.
she yawned, shaking her head, "i don't know, i just work here," she mumbled, "theres extra blankets in your closets for corbyn, but i don't think he wants those," she smirked, tapping her nails against the counter.
"what?" daniel questioned.
"he wants you to keep him warm. go cuddle with him," she giggled, "i see the way he looks at you. he adores you daniel. it's cute." daniel blushed, shying away from the girl. he looked back over at corbyn who was filling a bag with snacks and bottles of water. he did look quite...adorable? "i have to go help my mom with some chores around here, but the power should be back on in a few hours."
daniel stood still, puzzled by her words. him and corbyn were close yes, but he never saw anything further happening.
"daniel come take one of these bags, their heavy!"
