"What are you looking at stupid," he said, meeting your eyes which were staring straight at his chest.
There's my regular, mean Draco Malfoy.
"Your dumb self." You said back, smirking. You stood up, brushing the grass off of your outfit. Draco stood up with you, rolling his eyes. He walked past you into the castle, hitting your shoulder hard.
"Ow Draco!" You yelled at him.
He smiled, continuing to walk to his dorm.

Throughout the next few weeks you were PACKED with work. There were large tests going on declaring the beginning of the school year. Also, the annual school wide ball was coming up in a little less than a week and a half. You found yourself sadly not having a date yet. This coming afternoon was going to be your official dance practice. McGonagall thought it was quite needed to practice the your 'moves' in order to make our school look good. You hated dancing and hated dressing up in front of large amounts of people; it made you awfully nervous. Better yet, you had to have a practice partner of the opposite gender. Not many of your common 6 year friends were in your transfiguration class, therefore leaving you choosing on the spot.
'At least I have McGonagall 2nd period.' You thought.

After Defense Against the Dark Arts, you walked into transfiguration. All of the desks were tightly packed against the wall leaving nothing but a blank room and a little table which held a record player. Chatter stirred around the classroom before Professor McGonagall transformed into her human self.
"Quiet, quiet! Everyone!" She spoke in a fair voice.
"SHUT IT!" Ginny Weasley yelled from the corner.
McGonagall glared her eyes over to a now giggling Ginny. "Thank you Mrs Weasley." She stopped to clear her throat. "As you all know, we will be having our annual school ball; The Crown's Dance, in a little more than a week. As tradition of this glorious ball, every 6th year student will have to dance to the Crown's Song." Just as she said that, loud groans erupted from the crowd. "SILENCE! Many others before you have participated and turned out just fine. Now, pair up on the wall so I can properly demonstrate how the dance is preformed."
Not wanting to be noticed, you slid your body as far from Professor McGonagall's view as possible. You still didn't have a partner but decided it was better not to say anything.
Professor McGonagall explained more details as students lined the walls. She glanced around the room once more before calling someone's name.
"Mr. Weasley,"
"..Yes?"
"Will you join me please?" The room went silent as Professor McGonagall pulled Ron up.
"Now, place your right hand on my waist." Ron's face went white. "Mr. Filch if you would please."
Filch clicked the music on, Ron and McGonagall spinning in elegant circles.
"Everybody come together! Boys! On your feet!"
The whole room filled with dancing teenagers, all not knowing what they're doing. You stood awkwardly in the side or the room, completely alone. Suddenly, a hand slid across your waist for a millisecond, grabbing your attention.
"Malfoy- What are you?"
"It's either me or Filch, pick your poison."
You sighed heavily, taking Draco's hand.
His hand went to your waist, him stiffening his other arm around your upper torso. He danced in a perfect rhythm, barely paying attention. You struggled to keep up.
"Slow down, Malfoy. I've never done this before." You stumbled a little, swearing you could feel his hand tighten a little bit around you.
You were probably imagining it..
You stared at your feet for a little, trying to match Draco's quick steps. You looked up, his eyes staring into yours. You felt your face go hot before tilting you head back down. You felt a cold hand push it back up.
"Keep your head up, back straight. Looking at your feet won't help you. Follow my lead." He leaned to the left, you leaning with him. For a minute you swore you were enjoying it.
Only for a minute, though..
He turned, doing his 2nd step in the line up. You followed his moves, getting more comfortable with the similar steps.
"See, you're getting it. You'll still never be as good as me though." He smirked.
"We'll see, Draco. We'll see." You disbanded from his arms, heading to your next class.

Fallon rubbed beside you as you walked through the courtyard."So, Y/N, I heard you and Malfoy danced this morning. Anything going on?" She giggled, hitting you with her shoulder lightly.
"Of course not! Why would I ever even want to talk to Malfoy, he's too egotistical. It was either him or Filch the old creepy guy." You laughed, walking into the open hallways of the castle.
You hated Draco, but why did you enjoy dancing with him? Why did you feel your stomach get lighter when he entered your sight?
Lost in thoughts of boys, exams, and dance moves, you barely even noticed the group of people walk towards you.
"Losers, have you seen Draco?" Pansy twirled her hair, stopping right in front of you. Crabbe and Goyale stood behind her, acting like the were the children to her chaperone; minions.
"No, Pansy. Even if we knew where he was I barely believe that he'd be happy to see you." You rolled your eyes, stepping beside her. She stepped in front of you, again. Her face was close to yours, her eyes slimming.
"Pansy, if you don't back your ass up I will-"
"Or you'll what? Get Harry to stupefy me? We all know you couldn't do it yourself."
She pushed you into the wall, cornering you. Her wand went to the lower collum of your neck, choking you lightly. As you pushed it farther into your skin, the more the air began to escape you. Suddenly, Pansy was pulled back. You dropped, coughing. Your body shook with each cough, fear emitting.
Fallon, Goyale, and what looked like Draco rushed by you.
It took you a minute to catch your breath. Fallon stood by you as Draco took your hand, hoisting you up.
"You're alright, it's okay." Fallon said, rushing to hug you. You side hugged her, still catching your breath. Draco studied your bright red neck, remarking on how that was going to leave a mark. Then, Draco took another look at you, assuring you were okay before grabbing Pansy's wrist and dragging her out of sight. Goyale rushed behind him, leaving you and Fallon in the hallway.
You glanced over to her, smiling timidly.
