While the precise nature of her previous relationship with the Doctor is unknown, it appears to have ended on bad terms judging by how she calms herself and takes a deep breath when she first meets the now amnesiac Doctor in the present. Nevertheless, she will work with the Doctor for Amiya's sake. Later story chapters reveal that pre-amnesia Doctor and Kal'tsit were already distrusful of each other.
