I can't help but make Romulus' words wander in my head. I know they're not true. I know it...Do I? No. I chase the thought out of my mind. She's not using me at anything, we're only having fun. What I've been waiting for so long has to work out the way I want it. I deserve it.
I can hear the music from where we are, even though the house is still out of sight. As we get closer, I see green and blue lights coming out from a big brown house and decude it as being the house holding the party. We walk about 3 more minutes before getting to it. The music gets clearer and I hear heavy metal music. Knowing it won't make me look tough, I avoid blocking my ears with my hands. There is a guy with a gigantic red mohawk at the entrance selling beers for two dollars. A few people in our group buy some, including Emily who buys two amd hands me one. I take it even though I won't drink it because I don't consume alcoholic drinks. We get in. The house is way bigger than I expected it to be. It looks like it was made for parties because there are no walls separating the house in rooms. It is one of the most crowded place I've been to and I can barely see anything because my head doesn't get higher than anyone's shoulders. I try following Emily but it's hard because I'm getting pushed all along. As I finally see a part of the house less crowded than the others, I rush into it, almost breaking my shoulder over a giant guy's elbow. I scream Emily's name hoping she hears me.
- EMILY!!
She turns around and sees me. She starts walking towards me mouthing words I can't. As she gets there a few heads turn towards us. The music stops for a few seconds. I hear the start of the first non-hevy metal song of the party. More heads start turning towards us. I look down. We're on the dance floor. Emily smiles flirtingly.
- I tried warning you, she says.
Crap. I did take the non-optional classic 19th century dancing class in 8th grade but I'm pretty sure that's not the kind of dancing they do here. I start thinking quick. The song is almost getting to the chorus. Romulus! He break-dances! Turning around, I see him right behind me. I jump off the dance floor. And pat his shoulder before showing him the way. He gives me a thumbs up and goes in. They start dancing and I start trying to get away from the crowd. When I'm done doing so, I sigh from relief. I may or may not have had claustrophic attacks in the past. I stay out a couple of seconds and then get back in. I try moving my way back to the front of the crowd but fail miserably. I just stand at the back and watch them dance from afar. Romulus' dance talents are not a secret. He posted a video online and won contests. But I didn't know Emily had these talents in her too. She's almost as good as him. As the song ends, I find an empty spot in the crowd and use it to get to them. The last note of the song hits and we hear shy clapping coming from the people. But it takes less than a minute for the party to get back to normal witht the heavy metal. Emily sees me and points to a direction. I walk towards the place her finger is showing before seeing a bathroom sign on a door. Hum. So it's always going to be our meeting place. She opens the door and gets in. I follow her.
- It wasn't very romantic of you to ditch me and let Romulus dance instead, she says without having a pinnch of anger in her voice.
- I was not sure they wanted to see the 19th century classic dance, I joke.
She laughs.
- You're right, she tells me.
She wraps her arms around my neck and lets her lips fall onto mine. Here's the thing about Emily : anything she does, anything she says, I will always see it as a gracious move. I am blind to any of her flaws and become numb everytime I think of her. I feel like she could ask me to jump off a bridge and I'd do it. She makes me feel numb in every sense of the word. I kbiw exactly why I'm following her almost without questionning it.
She slides her hands down my shoulders, my arms and my hips. Only the feeling of her fingers making contact with my skin makes me feel drunk. She then grabs my belt buckle and almost aggressively tears it off. I back away quick.
- Woah,woah,woah, don't you think you're goin too fast?I ask her.
- Relax, she says. I wasn't gonna have sex with a guy on first night. I only want to check if you have good underwear choices. If I may.
I giggle.
- You may, I say with a flirting smile.
She takes the belt off and drops it on the floor. Normally, I would have refused, categorically. But it's Emily. She's what seems to be the dream I've been looking forward to all my life. She unzips them and hangs her thumbs into my pockets as she makes them slide down. I take my feet out when she brought them to my calves. She feels her hand up my stomach and presses her cherry lips against my lips.
- Very sexy, she says. Don't you wanna see me?she asks me.
I back away again.
- Maybe even this is too fast for me, I say.
She sighs.
- Right. Sorry, she says.
I pick up my pants from the bathroom tiles and put them on. We get out and back to the party.
