Today was any normal day for Kayla the only thing that felt out of place was the sun wasn't out and the cloud's out and grey which meant one thing, but hoping against it the young girl went to the grill after a hard day at school and got in her favorite booth at the grill. "Hey Kaya we got your usual getting ready" Matt's sister Vicki said looking at the younger girl with a smile then she walked away leaving the girl in her thoughts.
When Kayla was finished with her food she decided to sketch a sunflower not paying attention to who sat in front of her until she looked over seeing icy blue eye's and raven hair. "Looks like we keep running into each other don't we sunshine?" Damon asked sarcastically with a smirk causing the girl across from him to laugh causing the blue eyed vampire to actually smile a real smile. "What's on your agenda today?" The vampire asked looking into her green/grey eye's. The girl got out her dry erase board and marker writing something them showing the raven haired man across from her. "Nothing really just wanted to get something to eat before I went home" Damon read while the girl erased what she wrote putting her the board and marker back onto the table. "How about you come with me to my house we can watch movies if you want" the older Salvatore said looking at the girl waiting for her answer patiently and smiled when she nodded with a smile of her face opening her purse about to pull out a twenty but Damon beat her to it and pulled out a twenty paying for her meal then he walked over to her gently helping her out her seat and they walked to their cars and Kayla followed Damon's car.
When they got to the Salvatore house the girl was in complete awe. "Come on let's get inside" Damon said with a smirk opening the front door letting the girl inside closing the door then walked over to his mini bar getting some bourbon then went over to the movie case showing the girl all the movies that was collected over the years.
Kayla didn't find anything that interested her so she went out to her car and got out her movie collection flipping through the until she landed on her favorite movie handing it to Damon watching him out it on and watched him walk to a closet and was handed a fluffy blanket. The movie she picked was Cinderella but the one with Brandy and Whitney houston.
At the end of the movie Kayla had her head in Damon's lap and he stroked her hair hearing it storming watching the girls face squinch in fear and just like that her green/gray eye's snapped open and tears fell down her face her heart beating fast breathing heavy and shaking. "Sunshine you alright?" Damon asked for some unknown reason he felt one emotion he haven't felt in over one hundred years concern. "Scared" Kayla stuttered feeling herself panicking tears fell harder down her face. "Kayla I want you to take a deep breath and let your heart match your breathing" Damon instructed while the girl sat up and listened to what Damon instructed until she heard thunder she jumped into the vampire's arms he could feel her shaking even more. "It's ok sunshine I got you" Damon said looking down at the girl in his arms taking her face in his hands wiping her tears with his thumbs. "Thank you" Kayla stuttered feeling better. "Anytime sunshine. Are you hungry?" The blue eyed Salvatore asked looking down at the girl in his arms watching her nod then went to the kitchen leaving Kayla in the parlor.
While the older Salvatore was in the kitchen Kayla got her sketch book out and started to draw her sunflower.
After the two ate Kayla decided it was time to go home cause it was getting late. "Get home safe sunshine hopefully we'll see each other again" Damon said causing the girl to smile hugging the blue eyed vampire catching him off guard but he wrapped his arms around her and awkwardly tapped her back softly then let her go walking her out to her car watching her drive off.
When Kayla got home she ran upstairs knowing her mom had to work late tonight so she was by herself.... Going into her bathroom she took a bath putting on her tie-dye shorts and matching crop top tang top then she grabbed her guitar and played one of her favorite songs then she went to bed tired from the day what she didn't know is Damon snuck into her room from her balcony he saw her sleeping form he felt human around her wanting to protect her; Reaching down the vampire stroked her cheek with his pointer and middle finger then cupped her face rubbing her cheek with his thumbs. "Good night sunshine" Damon whispered softly then vamp sped out her room going into he woods seeing Vicki Donovan Matt's older sister with her druggie friend's so he attacked at the right moment killing the teenagers seeing Vicki was the only one alive so he picked her up and vamp sped to his house putting her on the couch in the parlor getting a drink mixing it with blood then he went upstairs seeing there was no point of waiting for the drugged out teenager to awaken.
After taking a shower Damon read call of the wind not being able to get his mind off of Kayla and he had to he didn't come to Mystic falls for her he didn't care about her, all he wanted was Katherine and he'll do anything to get her back. With that he went to sleep knowing he'll get the love of his life back even if he had to kill everyone in Mystic falls to get her back to him.
