Jamie's pov
As soon as I landed at home I was stabbed with a needle. I was then asked questions I couldn't help but answer. About how punching zombies had little effect. How Leo turns invisible. How Sierra teleports. How the flame guys controlled fire. About Terrain. What happened to Sierra's baseball bat.
Same old, same old. My dad smiled when I told him all this. Over the years I had stopped resisting.
He remove the needle from my arm. Relieved I stretch out my arms, and got caught off guard.
"Do you want to see him?"
I assume he means Terrain. He's probably is frozen in the basement with the others. Other results of hjk. He might have been rock originally, or maybe he was human. Some hobo from off the street, or a person desperate for money perhaps. It is entirely possible that he was grown, or maybe he was one of the free vaccine children.
"No."
"You shouldn't have helped him. It will be taken as weakness."
"So. They know I can do my job."
I'm supposed to look for rogue supers. I'm one of the few flyers they've created, so my assistance is helpful. Thing is these people can't keep track of their supers. It's kinda sad.
...
I'm in a field. I know it's a dream but I can't wake up. The ground turns to sludge and I sink in. I can't get my arms to transform. I can't even move as the ground swallows me.
Then he's there staring at me. Terrain. He holds out his hand. I go to take it but he vanishes. I turn around and he's behind me. I spin and he's all around me. He steps forward and the dream spins, until everything becomes a blur.
...
I wake up to find I'm plugged into a machine. My dad smiles.
"You yelled in your sleep so I decided to get some readings. I'm suprised you didn't wake up."
I'm not.
