RAENA was an ex-assassin with a dark past and an even darker heart. Cold, quiet and reserved was just how she was-not by choice, but by means of survival. Being raised by Lord Miraz in the Telmarine castle as a killer rather than a girl, set her on a path nearly as evil as Miraz himself. But if there was one thing Raena was best at, it was running from her problems. So that's exactly what she did.
Years after escaping, Raena lives in the woods, surviving only off of scraps and her cleverness alone. But as fate would have it, she soon crosses paths with the kings and queens of old that have returned after hundreds of years and reluctantly agrees to lead them to the last of the Narnians in hopes of escaping Telmar once and for all. Though, putting up with King Edmund and his irritating comments might just drive her over the edge first.
Despite her pessimism, Edmund knows there's good inside her and he refuses to quit until she acknowledges it herself. She won't let herself care for anyone again-she knows it'll only end in pain. But even though she tries to stop, it's harder than she thinks, especially after she finds herself enjoying his company. With the help of the Pevensies and the Narnians, the ex-assassin slowly discovers the true meaning of love and friendship.
But it's only a matter of time before they find out who she truly is and her world comes crashing down once again.
