Sitting near Astrid was the body that she truly hates. He was scrawny and weak and easily bullied. But he was smart. His emerald green eyes stare at her with complete competition. She will not lose to this boy.
She was five and in kindergarten. The boy beside her was Hiccup, son of the mayor, a friend of her father. Although their parents seem to get together very well, Astrid and Hiccup did not. It was probably because of the constant fight for the top of the class. Astrid gets the highest scores and yet Hiccup is always in her tail. But there were also times where Astrid was the one tailing Hiccup.
That was basically their relationship. But Hiccup's family went away. They grew apart yet Astrid still studied well because she knew eventually, she will see him again. By that time, he could never be greater than her.
