When waves hit sand

When the sun hits land

Pearl's POV

I looked at our new home, it was quite small for a family of four.

"Is this really the new place?" I asked, spotting some overgrown weeds.

"Yep, it might not be much but it's what we can afford to get out of England." My mom said, as my other mom left to go in the house. My other mom Opal wasn't really a talker. My mother Sardonyx on the other hand, you start a particular conversation and she never shuts up.

"You comin in?" Rainbow asked me,

"Mmmm... not yet I'm going to look around." I said to them.

"Alrighty then, don't cause to much trouble" they giggled as they walked into the house leaving me alone. I started to look at the surrondings seeing the sun hit the land. Which made the sand steam hurt fully.

I started to walk along the sand, and kept going til' I saw a place called the Big Donut. I sighed

'maybe a donut wouldn't be so bad'

I wasn't sure about the new house. It doesn't exactly feel like home yet but maybe it won't be the same soon. I walked up to the door of the place and opened it.

"Hello!" A small girl greeted at me as she walked up to the counter. She must have worked here from the outfit.

"Hi" I responded with a small smile,

"Are you new here?" She asked, I responded with a nod.

"Where ya come from?" She asked,

"I come from England," I smiled.

"The names Sadie," she took out her hand to give me a hand shake,

"Pearl," I shook her hand,

"Now what can I get for ya?" She asked.

"Do you guys have, a donut with filling and plain glaze?" I asked, she nodded.

"How many?" She asked writing it down.

"Two,"

"Oki doki coming right up," she smiled.

I went to sit down as I saw a small curly haired boy and a tallish blue haired female.

Sadie looked at the two as she walked back up to them,

"Hey Steven! Hey lapis!" She greeted them As she finished my order.

"Here pearl," she said.

"Thank you" I walked up and grabbed the donuts.

The young boy looked at me, "your the new girl right? That came with her mother's and brother?" He asked.

"Correction, mother's and sibling," I corrected him, "but yes I am new"

"What do you mean sibling? A brother is a sibling" he looked confused as the blue haired girl made the order.

"My sibling Rainbow is trans" I explained,

"Oh!, sorry for the misunderstanding" he apologized,

"It's ok," I giggled.

The blue haired girl stopped ordering and turned torwards me, her icy glare staring through my soul.

"This is Lapis! And I'm Steven!" He introduced himself and his friend,

"I'm pearl." I smiled,

"Do you want to eat with us? We can show you around later" he smiled brightly,

"Sure" I said as Sadie came back with their food,

"Mind if I invite Rainbow? I got two donuts so they could have one" I asked, Steven grabbed the food and nodded.
