Bailey is desperatly grabbing for my arm.
"Brooks, lisen to me. BROOKS!" Her voice is still so quiet when she yells.
I turn around to look at her.
Tears have stained her beautiul cheeks.
My anger fizzes down when I look into her eyes.
"Brooks, listen to me." She takes a few steps towards me, and reaches for my arm again.
I rip back.
"Don't touch me. Please."
Her eyes plea with mine for a few seconds.
"I'm sorry, okay? I will break up with him if you want me to. Whatever you want. Just don't hurt him."
I sigh, and run my hand through my hair.
"I won't hurt him. I just got mad, because he's my best friend. And I just really like you, Bailey. I just wanted a chance with you. But, that's okay. Date Brandon. You two are perfect for each other, anyways. He always is the perfect one, and always gets the girls. But, you stay with him. I have your back."
I turn around, and shove my way out of the door, and back to the fotball stadium.
I jog as fast as I can to get there, and fall to the turf when I arrive.
Tears make their way down my cheeks.
I pick myself up, and run the bleachers several times, until a familiar girl comes running into the entrance.
Bailey.
"Brooks! Oh my gosh. I couldn't find you anywhere. Did you run here?! Are you alright?!"
Her small body runs the stairs faster than any football player could.
She meets me at the bottom, and looks up into my eyes.
"I'm sorry. I don't love him. You have wrecked my world, do you know that? Brooks, ever since I saw you this morning, I knew that you were going to be someone important to me. And, look, here we are. Standing in this beautiful sunset. Please, fogive me, for not seeing you like I see you now. I broke up with Brandon before I came here. Brooks, I want to give you a chance. But, I just broke up with someone that meant a lot to me. So, give me a while. Plus, you are something that I'm not. Everyone loves you. You can't even go to the garbage dump without being noticed. They adore you. And, when people look at me, they have no clue who I am. Brooks we are total opposites. Brandon and I were the same. We did everything the same way. I just, I don't know. It wasn't working with him. It didn't feel right to be with someone so perfect. That's why I'm giving you a chance. Because you're not perfect. I'm not perfect. I guess Brandon was so perfect, that he made me feel that way. I love you, Brooks. I'm just not ready to date right now."
Her cheeks are bright red from talking so much, and I laugh.
"How long have you been holding that in? I never thought you would say more than two words to me!"
Bailey giggles, and looks back to the entrance gate.
RaeAnne and Austin are standing hand in hand, watching the two of us talk.
"Look, Bailey, I totally understand. I will wait on you. I promise."
Her small arms wrap around my shoulders, and her long hair tickles my nose.
I love her. Everything about her.
And I will thank God everyday, that He brought this specical girl to me.
