"When do you think we're getting out of here?"

Casey giggles and looks down at his plate without saying anything. Topher looks between everyone at the table, then back to Vince before turning back to Casey to continue their conversation from before. Nobody else acknowledges the question.

"Guys.." His eyes dart between everyone at the table, glossing over the two laughing amongst themselves and making shitty food art. Amelia just gives a half-assed shrug and gets up to dump her tray. He looks over to Kai, who's eyes are intently trained on the two boys in front of him.

This is so stupid.. When will he realize there's nothing to worry about between them? Is Casey even gay or is he just an attention whore? In the nicest way possible, I think he would accept attention from anyone despite their gender if it meant someone would laugh at his jokes. That's probably why he gets along with Pierce so well. After these past few years of knowing the guy I still can't figure him out. Not his sexuality, not his motives and most definitely can't keep track of his emotional state. Also, he has an odd twinge to his "Californian" accent. How do we know he's telling the truth about his home country? Does nobody else notice the Turkish flag he carries around with him? The slight Turkish accent?!? Maybe i'm over thinking it but there's something so off-putting with him.. I love him just as much as I love the rest of the crows but that doesn't mean I can't critique. Holy shit.. am I a bad person?

He snaps out of his thoughts when Amelia sits back down next to him and starts eating from his plate. "Hey! That's mine.." She gives a big cheesy smile in return and gets up to walk across the lunchroom. Immediately she spots Nikita and they walk across the hall, out of sight. Glad they're getting along. Weird, though..

This sucks. I know I should try to stay optimistic but it's hard when you and everyone in your city you've grown up with is locked up by some power hungry narcissistic white dude with a God complex. Which could technically describe almost every single one of my friends. Wow. Fuck, life is weirdddd..

His attention is diverted back to Kai, eyes lingering on him while he watches him watch the other two. He's tried to get him to open up about how he feels. About the breakup, the on and offs, his eye, whatever the fuck happened between him and those two sword wielding maniacs.

"You know, trying to talk to you lately is like talking to a brick wall. In the nicest way possible!" Quickly, the blond shoves a piece of stale bread into his mouth. Sometimes, when the big guy controlling everything is having a bad day he won't supply lunch for anyone. Today was the first day since Thursday, or was it Tuesday..? Time flies here and not in the fun way.

Kai says nothing as he studies the boy across from him. His face is completely blank, void of any emotion. Vince sighs. "I don't know if i'm just annoying or if no one will talk to me anymore." He laughs, but it's more of a pity laugh.

"You're just annoying."

"And you're madly in love with a guy who not only owns literally one outfit, treats you like shit, but is also probably fucking one of your closest friends behind your back." He smiles at the end, before watching his best friends reaction. At least he's showing some sort of emotion..?

Kai abruptly stands up, catching the attention of a few other people around them. Vince looks between Casey and Topher, who are still in phased by the world around them and giggling to themselves, and back to Kai. As he watches him walk across the lunchroom, his heart flips and his stomach sinks. He follows in pursuit.

"Hey!" He shouts after him. Kai doesn't slow down though, only ignores him and takes a sharp right down another corridor. The boy jogs to catch up.
