Luckily, Jade and the twins didn't catch a cold from yesterday's happenings. Other than that, she couldn't remember the rest of her dreams after Lockhart's grip on her forearm loosened.

She stood up from her bed and took her clothes inside her cabinet to get ready for school. The moment she got out of her room, the news from the television caught her attention.

"After the storm yesterday, an individual was found dead on the street at 10 in the morning yesterday at Centril park," one of the reporters said.

Almost every week, 2-3 deaths are reported in their city these past few months and now Jade knows why these people are dying.

The soldiers from the portal.

Why they're killing people, I don't really know. But one thing's for sure, I have to keep acting like I don't know them, or better yet, just hide myself  and my brothers from them since a soldier already saw us move.

"This just in: NASA shared that they received an anonymous letter stating that there is a parallel universe where time flows backwards."

Lionel Thompson gave Jade the coffee he made for her before the two of them sat down and listened intently to the reporter, curious.

"NASA received the letter a week prior today. For the past days, NASA's well-known Physicists have been carefully studying the message given to them by the anonymous sender. NASA added that the cryptic message also came with photos that would add support to the sender's claim. The NASA's chief executive, Harold Frost, was even interviewed when one of the photos given to them included him wearing a soldier's uniform – to which he never wore in his entire life. Furthermore, Physicists are still working to figure out if these statements can be verified through their thorough studying and research to see if current models of physics can explain the said claims."

Jade snorted as she was holding her cup of coffee (her favorite drink), now unamused by the sudden turn of events in her life lately. "Looks like mom's fairy tale stories are slowly happening, dad," she joked, looking at her father. However, even with the hint of sarcasm in her tone, Jade found her father looking at her with his mouth agape, and eyes reflecting something like fear. Puzzled, Jade approached him. "Dad, I was just joking. I didn't mean to make fun of her stories."

Her dad shook his head, a hand on his chest. "No, that's not it, Jade." He smiled at his daughter weakly, "I just remembered something."

"From mom's stories?" Jade found herself asking.

"No." Lionel immediately answered. "Don't mind her stories when you were young. Those were just made up."

With those words, Jade felt like her dad wanted to dismiss the topic.

Jade went to school with Reverie, arriving early in the morning, when there aren't too many students yet since Rev says she contacted Agustus to tutor them for that quiz about Jung's theory.

Reverie waved her hand at the boy who was waiting for them inside their classroom. "Hey, Agy!"

"I can't believe I agreed to be friends with the both of you," Agustus said, adjusting the glasses he's wearing.

Rev and Jade pulled armchairs of their own and placed them beside where Agustus was seated.

"You can't really say no to us, can you?" Rev grinned at Agustus, "We've got you wrapped around our fingers."

"Yeah, I'm starting to think you guys are using magic on me, especially you, Reverie." He made a face at Reverie, who only stuck her tongue out at him playfully.
