"Have a good day at school today mell!" Mom shouted from the car. I'm glad that she has finally thought of a nickname for me. It’s not exactly the perfect nickname, or even a nickname, but I like it. "Excited?" Julia asked, with a hyper tone. "Ten cups of coffee? I replied with a grin. "I asked first!" She exclaimed. We laughed for a while then stopped when we had no more air.

"Hey Blondie!" I heard a few feet away. I turned to my left and saw a guy who looked like Nicolas cage. "H-hi, I'm Mell, er, Mellany." I stuttered, unsure of what to do. "Cool, I'm Dean." he said with a cute smile. I smiled back and laughed freakishly.

"So, are you new here?" he asked. "Um... yea." I said, still unsure of myself. "Cool, maybe I could show you around here sometime." "Yea, I would like that." I said, finally feeling sure of myself. "Super, je aimerais vous voir autour de quelque temps!" he said, in French. I knew because during the summer break I had learned a few words. "Um, I guess I will look that up, see you!" I peeped. "You too." he said with a laugh.

"Whoa! Mell that was amazing!!!" she screamed as dean walked away. "What?" I asked surprised. "He’s the most popular kid in school! Duh!" What had I just gotten myself into?
