Why Would It Be Different

School

Eri and I head upstairs into our new room. It's fairly small but it still feels better then where we were. I put down our bag and Eri wraps her arms around my legs. "I'm scared Shinsou." I bend down and hold her tight in my arms "It'll be okay Eri I'm right here with you and the others will help us too." I feel her slump against me and look down to see her snoring slightly.

I pick her up carefully and lay her on the bed. Then I tuck her in and rifle through the small bag I packed until I find her small stuffed animal. I tuck it under her arm and pull the blankets up. "Goodnight Eri." I slowly leave the room, careful not to wake her. I lean against the door and rub my temples still feeling the headache from earlier.

"You're a good big brother." I jump and see Aizawa standing there. How did I not hear him? "Uh thanks." He grins "Are you coming back downstairs or are you going to bed?" I just start to walk downstairs and he follows. Once we reach the kitchen I see Present Mic and I sit at the table.

"So what's going to happen to us?" Aizawa sighs and sits next to me. "You'll be staying with us and then probably you'll be adopted." I shiver at the thought of going back into the system. "OR WE COUL-" Mic is cut off by the deadly glare that Aizawa gives him.

"So are you hungry kid?" I nod no and get up to go to bed. I'm tired and my headache is killing me. I wave a goodnight and head upstairs. I open the door quietly and change. I slip into bed next to Eri and she shifts next to me. I wrap my arms around her and she whispers "Goodnight Shinsy." I chuckle softly at the nickname and stroke her hair until she falls back asleep.

I wake up to Eri standing over me and shaking my shoulder slightly. I open my eyes and adjust to the light "What's up Eri?" She looks at the ground suddenly shy, "I'm hungry and I don't want to go downstairs alone." I smile and get out of bed. I change and get her some clothes as well.

After both of us are changed we head downstairs and I see Aizawa and Mic already down there. "Hey little listeners, want some food?" I'm about to say no and then figure I might as well eat with Eri. I nod yes and he looks down at Eri who hides behind me so I answer for her too.

He makes us eggs and we both eat and I get ready for school and then it occurs to me, What's Eri going to do? As if sensing my question Aizawa says that he's staying from school so he can watch Eri. Eri's eyes fill with terror at the thought of staying here alone with him.

"What if she came to school with me?" He thinks about this for a second. "Would she cause trouble and would she be able to handle being around people?" I nod no for the first and turn to her for the second. "I want to stay with Shinsy." My eyes widened at the nickname, I didn't realize that was permanent. Aizawa nods okay "Shinsou you have to keep an eye on her though." I nod in agreement and she gives an excited look.

After we're all ready we all head out and start our walk to school. It's close enough to be a nice walk and Eri seems to be enjoying the outdoors. Wait did she ever get to leave the house when she was with Chisaki?

We arrive at the school and her eyes widen at the tall building. I bend down to her level "Eri you need to make sure to stay with me so you don't get lost and if you feel overwhelmed just tell me okay?" She nods and gives me a hug before I take her hand and enter the building.

Aizawa and Mic head to the teachers lounge to get ready for their classes and Eri and I head to class 1-A. We walk in and I see that most of the class is already there. Bakugou is yelling like always and Eri hides because of it.

Suddenly the class becomes aware of our presence and turns to look at us. I walk in with Eri close behind and I sit at my desk and put her on my lap. Everyone still looks confused but then it's like they snap out of their trance and suddenly all the girls are swarming my desk. "Aww she's so cute." Eri looks around at all of the faces and hides in my jacket. I glare at all of them and they back off.

"WHAT THE HELL IS A CHILD DOING IN HERE?" If looks could kill Katsuki Bakugou would be dead. When she holds onto me tighter I wrap my arms around her and that shuts him up.

Eventually everyone moves on except for the occasional glance. Denki walks over to my desk "Hey Shinsou." I wave hello and he gets on one knee. "Hey Eri, remember me from yesterday." She slowly pulls away from my chest and looks up at him. "Yeah you're the electric one." He laughs "Yep that me."

Aizawa walks in and everyone goes back to their seats. "As everyone has already realized we have a guest today." Everyone glances at us. "If you could please watch your language..." He glares at Bakugou "...and try not to crowd her, that would be great." Everyone nods and we move on in class.
