Celia Vargas pov

I was waiting for dad's girlfriend, I don't know what to say. I was wearing something comfy but also stylish. I started scrolling through my social media. Well I heard, Shelly is going to be a sexy vampire, ironic, and Jasper is going to be a grim reaper, he has a fascination for taking people's life. People can be anything for Halloween, some people even wear cardboard or wrap a bedsheet and becomes an off brand ghost. That's the level of creativity. Last year, somebody from our school was wearing a tomato costume, that was hilarious. I started laughing thinking about it. Suddenly I heard the doorbell. Miss Marina must be here. Dad went to open the door. I was peeking through my door, it feels weird. Is it normal to feel that way? Miss Marina enter the house. She was wearing a sleeveless red dress, she looked gorgeous. Her red hair was tied in a bun with loose curls falling in front of her forehead. She looked excited and also satisfied. Sometimes I hate interacting with people, I guess I have to talk to her now. My dad was happy too. Both of them hug eachother and then she settled down on the couch. Hands on her lap and legs were crossed.

"Hello mam, hope you are doing fine" I said. She smiled at me. Now, she is going to tell dad about me being careless and not paying attention in the class.

"Celia! It's nice to see you. You can call me Marina" she said. What! I can call her by name? Okay that's great. I didn't expected that. I nod my head with a smile.

"Oh David, your house is beautiful, love the ambience but where is the halloween decorations?" said Marina. David is my father's name. I don't want to be here. Now they are going to start flirting. We don't do halloween decorations that much except adding pumpkins and some skeletons on the porch.

"Its Celia's job to do" said dad. Yeah, he don't do anything to help me. He only buy candies, he has a sweet tooth. Dad elegantly pull the chair for Marina to sit. I settle down in the chair. Dad has cooked some delicious food items. Mac and cheese, fried chicken, homemade tacos and chocolate mousse. My dad can cook anything.

"Marina you are looking beautiful as always" said dad to Marina. I am feeling like I am the odd one out here. I cleared my throat.

"Oh come on David, look at you, you look more young and handsome day by day" said Marina with a wink. I thought I would choke on my drink. That's too much to say. What am I doing here? Dad served us the food and then settle down himself. The room was filled with taco smell.

"Celia, are you paying attention to your classes?" asked Marina. I knew it. My dad stare at me with a worried look.

"I was kinda sad because of all those accusations but I am fine now" I said. She nod her head.

"So, are you still available for that movie night?" Asked Marina, she was rubbing her hand against my dad's hand. I should get out of here.

"Yes of course" said dad. They started talking about their works and what they love about themselves with little bit flirting. There eyes were fixed into eachother. It was pretty uncomfortable. I quickly eat my food. I need some fresh air.

"Excuse me" I said with a smile. I get up and went to my room. Let them enjoy some alone time. Ugh, it was awkward as hell, I was staring at them like a fool. I should have went to Ambrose's house, he must be busy decorating his house. I could have helped him. I could hear dad and Marina laughing about something, they are enjoying the night afterall.

I started to watch some funny videos but soon I was bored. There is nothing to do. Sometimes I feel like it would have been great if it was end of the world. Too many evils have surrounded the earth. We humans are just like infections in this beautiful place, though some people are really good. I started laughing, thinking, that I am not even a human. Can I call myself human? I don't trust myself, I once loose control, I could easily loose it again. I have to control it, I have to be mentally strong. Maybe I should call Theo. I wish I could read his thoughts, it would have been fun. He is a mystery to me, he don't share anything about himself. I called him, it ringed twice, he didn't pick up. Maybe he is busy. Suddenly my phone started ringing, it was Theo. I pick it up with excitement.

(The following is a conversation over the phone, between Celia and Theo. The portion in italics are written in third point of view)

Celia: Hello......

Theo: Preparing for Halloween? Going to the party tomorrow?

Celia: How do you know? You can't read my mind from far away.

Theo started laughing, it made Celia angry and also kinda sad.

Theo: You do know that your friends are in my pack, Right?

Celia: Ugh, yes It's easier for you to keep an eye on me, like I am your prize possession.

Theo: what are you going to be?

Celia: Red Riding Hood, don't judge.

Theo chuckled, Celia felt embarassing and also little bit shameful.

Theo: you would look beautiful. But be careful from the big bad wolf.

Celia rolled her eyes.

Celia: You mean, from you?

Both of them laughed. Celia was happy and finally enjoying the night. Whenever she is closer to Theo, Celia felt like she is complete.

Theo: No, I mean from yourself.

Theo said with a worried tone in his voice. Celia's face become serious. After all Theo was right.

Celia: Why don't you come to the party? It'll be fun.

Theo: You except me to go a party full of high school students?

Celia: oh come on! Don't be a party pooper. How old are you?

Theo: Well I am twenty four and high school parties are pretty boring for me.

Celia: Okay grandpa. You are going to miss a lot.

Celia's father started calling her. Maybe they need her. Celia felt sorrowful, she didn't wanted to hung up the call.

Celia: I have to go, bye.

Theo: Bye.

I hung up the call. I wanted to talk more but I think I have to go. Marina must be going back. She could have stayed here, though I am not ready to experience that nightmare. But dad looks super happy and I don't want to take that away from him.
