December had come, Avyanna had gotten used to Hogwarts. Many random events have happened since arrival. Such as Harry Potter gaining popularity due to him being the "choose one". The quiditch games were always fun to go to. Draco always bragged about how he wanted to be apart of the team, and how good he would be, and how he would join next year, but then complained about how he hated being on his broom to long. There were rumors about a "sorcerers stone" but it didn't seem like an important matter, at least not to Avy and her group.
Being apart of the group was interesting to Avy. Sometimes she felt a bit left out, which was, in a way, to be expected. Being around Pansy and Blaise made her feel better, they could have been a trio if they wanted to. Pansy, at this point had become her best friend, and her and Avy both relied on each other in a way. Blaise was also pretty nice to her, which was a bit suprising to Avy, but she was fine with it. He would be mean to anyone else who wasn't a Slytherin and much like Draco, he was ALWAYS trying to impress people. Avy knew he was secretly sweet, he just liked being tough. Crabbe and Goyle were straight up stupid. Avyanna honestly despised them. All they really were was Draco's bodyguards. They were also one of the rudest people Avy had seen, not only bullying others, but had the WORST manners, which made Avy disgusted.
Then there was Draco. He was mean, rude, and a snob. He wasn't as bad since the beginning of the year, but was still bad. They had come to liking each other just a little bit, but nothing more. He also loved being the "leader" of their little group. He would only make fun of Avy lightly, carefully, so Pansy wouldn't smack him. Avy knew he hated her, and she still hated him. Some days she didn't know why, others it was because of the tiniest action he did.

Christmas break was in 2 weeks, she would have to go back home. She didn't want to, Avy had become quite comfortable at Hogwarts. It was more familiar to her now, and she knew people. Professor Snape, although intimidating to be around, had a more soft spot for the Slytherin girls. When the boys weren't around, he wouldn't yell or torture them with his long talks about being better students. He also gave out homework help if they stayed after class and helped with cleaning the potions room. The boys would call it sexist, but Professor Snape would say;
"Maybe, if you would behave yourselves, and not disappoint me, you would find yourselves in the same longed for position the girls have."
The boys would grumble, while the girls, including Avy, would show off their proud faces, as if to say that they were the superior. Snape had a point though. Many of the Slytherin boys, mostly under Draco's leadership, would get into so much mischief that they kept getting points taken away. Snape was always furious and looked as if he wanted to strangle Draco and the others.

"Psst, Avy." Pansy whispered to her as they were in Dark Arts class.
"What?" Avy answered discreetly, making sure the professor didn't hear.
"What are you doing for Christmas?"
"Oh, just going to be with my father and sister I suppose."
"Have you heard anything from your sister?"
Avy looked up. Her and her sister would only see and talk to each other every once and awhile. She believed that her sister didn't want to be associated with her, her sister never really liked Avy.
"No, why?" Avy replied.
"Oh, well, I sort of overheard a conversation between her and her friend."
Avy was immediately interested. "How about we talk after class?"
"Ok."
Avy was curious about what Pansy over heard, it had to be important, if Pansy was to over hear it.
"Wait, is it super important I'm curious wh-"
"Ms. Cummins!"
Avy looked up, Professor Quirrill always nervous self was standing over Avy.
"I thought I h-had told everyone to be quiet and study?" His soft voice said.
"Oh, well yes, I'm sorry Professor."
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to give you detention, Ms. Cummins. This is the third time I have had to remind you to be quiet."
"Yes sir." Avy sighed, this was the first detention she would get.
Avy looked at Pansy, who was just sneering. Avy glared back at her then continued her work.
Her father was going to be very mad at her.

"And then you will place these potions in this section, if I find then in any other section I will be very disappointed."
Avy had been sent to help Professor Snape for her detention. She was to organize the potions pantry.
"Oh yes, it seems you will be having help." Professor Snape said.
Avy looked behind her, and standing there was Draco, honestly one of the last people she wanted to see.
"I expect this work to be thoroughly finished." Snape said said he walked off, black cape swishing behind him.
"Ooo, look who got in trouble." Draco said as he sat on a near by crate.
"Oh please, I just simply whispered in class, what did you do?"
"Made fun of Longbottom. Since I stole his little "ball" thing, Pottah seems to keep a good eye on him. I finally caught him alone, and a teacher caught me, that's all."
"Well, you deserve it." Avy said as she started stacking the potions onto the shelf. She remembered that day, it was the first time they had to ride their brooms, both Harry and Draco were naturals. She had a bit of a hard time with it, but she was a quick learner. "Aren't you going to help?"
"No. I'll just sit here. You keep working."
"Ugh, do you always have to be like this? We have detention for the rest of the week, I'm not doing everything by myself."
"Oh boo-hoo." Draco made a pouty face as he picked up and examined one of the potions. "Wonder if we mixed a few of these together, what would it do?"
Avy sighed and rolled her eyes. "It would probably kill you. It's very dangerous, you don't just mix random potions together."
Draco kept staring down at the potion. "Why don't we try it?"
"Are you crazy? It's dangerous, and if we didn't get hurt we would probably get in HUGE trouble, or expelled. Snape would be the most angry."
"Hmm, with the power my father has I could probably stay. I don't know about your father, my father tells me that your father is nothing but a fraud."
"Excuse me?" Avyanna said as she slammed a potion to the shelf. "My father is not a fraud, he is a respectable judge in the ministries court. Your father is the one who shouldn't have a job."
They both stared each other down.
"I suppose our father's both hate each other, no our FAMILIES just hate each other." Avy sighed.
"I suppose." Draco said surprisingly quietly.
"Maybe we just listen to our father's to much." Avy said a bit slyly.
She needed to keep the families reputation, Malfoy could ruin it, she kept telling herself. Stay calm, you have to act his friend.
"What do you mean, we listen to our father's to much?" Draco responded.
"Well I - I was trying to say that I think we should forget about the small feud between our fathers, and be-e better friends?" Avy knew everything she said was a lie. She didn't want to be his friend, at least not now. She also thought he would have to be stupid to say yes to her offer.
"You know what Cummins, I'll take that offer."
Avy jolted her head up. What? "Well, I'm surprised, but of course."
"I hope you realize it won't change my views about your father."
"Oh, of course not. Same with me." Avy said.
Well, now she would have to act like his friend. She honestly wasn't expecting or wanting this. But it was to late now.
Suddenly, there was the loud sound of shattering glass. Avy looked over at Draco, who was standing over the broken bottle, potion leaking out of it. He was smirking.
"Draco! What was that for? Are you mad?"
"Oh Cummins, you do have to have some fun in getting in trouble every once in awhile."
