3RD PERSON’S POV
Two hours ago...
Cheng was standing in the middle of the function hall while looking around the area. He was checking if everything was in order. A very important event will take place there two hours from now. Then he smiled lightly.
“It’s been years already.” He laughs lightly. “Who would have thought that we are not really twins.” He sighed. Just then Hoaxuan who also came to check the venue patted his shoulder. Cheng looked back and also gave him a light pat on his shoulders. They talked about random things casually as they roamed around the hall and went separate ways after double checking if everything was set.
Wang Haoxuan looked back and smiled faintly.
It’s been years indeed. How have you been my best friend? He thought. He missed his best friend very much. It’s really been years since he last saw him though they frequently contact each other but the feeling is not the same as the way they used to be. He was sad and hurt when Xiao Zhan left ten years ago. More so is his brother, he was devastated when Xiao Zhan left just like that.
And memories of that day came back.
Ten years ago...
Wang Haoxuan saw his brother entering their house with his head hanging low, hairs a mess and sobbing. He didn't know what had happened.
Earlier that morning, Haoxuan received a text from Cheng saying they're leaving and that they won't be able to attend the same school during senior years because they're going to transfer to another school.
Haoxuan told his brother about it. And Wang Yibo after knowing about it, dashed. He even left the mansion without having breakfast.
Haoxuan waited for his twin brother at the door steps but Wang Yibo seemed preoccupied. He didn’t even notice his brother and walked past him. Haoxuan's brows are knitted. He grabbed Wang Yibo’s arm lightly and made him turn to look at him. He was taken aback when he saw his brother’s swollen eyes. It pained him seeing his little twin brother like that.
“Dìdì, what happened?” Haoxuan asked worriedly.
“He left… he l..left," Wang Yibo answered while sobbing. "He j..just l..left g..gē."
Haoxuan pulled his brother for a hug. He rubbed Wang Yibo’s back lightly trying to ease the pain his brother is feeling at that moment. Wang Yibo leaned his jaw on his brother’s shoulder as he cried painfully.
*End of flashback*
Wang Yibo couldn’t take his eyes off of Sean. It’s like everyone in the venue doesn’t exist. His eyes only fixed to Xiao Zhan or Sean rather. He didn't even blink as he got scared he might disappear again if he did so.
Wang Yibo had a lot of questions running inside his head at that moment. He wondered how it happened that the person he longed for and the person he ditched when he didn't show up to their supposed meeting two days ago were the same person.
How did Xiao Zhan become the son of Mr. Philip Xiao, the Chairman of Empire Group of Companies.
Wang Yibo noticed a lot of changes on Xiao Zhan. He oozes confidence and authority with the way he walks and talks. The smile that formed on his lips that used to look so sweet now looks more like a professional one. His smiles are now calculated. Even his looks have changed a lot also, his hair is long now.
