WANG YIBO’S POV

I was in my room and talking to my classmate back from Beijing over the phone. He was informing me that Jae Suk started a rumor in my former school that we are seeing each other. And he is coming over to see me. My blood boiled as I heard it. Jae Suk used to be my classmate too.

From the start I knew Jae Suk had romantic feelings towards me but I ignored it.  Back then, I never minded myself to the rumors about me circling around but…

But this time is different. I just can't turn blind eyes to it anymore.

“I don’t want to see him! I never liked him!" I yelled angrily and cut the call. Then I heard footsteps outside my room. I ran to check and I saw  Zhan running down the stairs. I tried to call him but it seems like he is not listening. Or rather he doesn’t want to.

Shit! He must have heard it! He heard it wrong. Zhan, please don’t misunderstand.

Shit! Shit! Shit!  I cursed to myself while trying to chase after  Zhan. But since he is a bit taller his steps are bigger than mine. But still I ran down the stairs. I was already at the foot of the stairs when my Dad blocked my way. I looked at him angrily.

“Just where do you think you’re going, young man?” He asked.

“It’s none of your business, Dad.” I answered and tried to pass him. But he moved again and blocked me.  “Dad let me through, please. I need to talk to  Zhan.” I almost pleaded.

Damn it! I really need to go after him.

“You’re not going anywhere!” Dad raised his voice. “I don’t want any of you to associate with that criminal’s son. Did you forget what his father did?”

“Uncle Xiao is not a criminal!” I defended  Uncle Xiao.

*SLAP*

“You ingrate! How dare you talk back to me!” Dad slapped me so hard that I could hear some ringing inside my ears.

I felt like my whole face turned numb. I caressed the part where my Dad slapped me. It felt like my check was burning.

“WANG ROU! HOW DARE YOU HURT MY SON!”

Mom's voice roared throughout the living room. I looked at Mom and  I could see how furious she was. She glared at Dad as she walked towards me. She lifted her hands and cupped my face.

“Does it hurt, baby? Tell Mommy what happened,” she said softly.

“You!” My Dad points a finger at Mom.  “Is that how you raised your son?! You're spoiling your sons and now he dares to talk back to me!”

“My son?” Mom gave Dad a very sharp glare. “He is your son too! He’s our son, Wang Rou! How many times do I have to tell you that, huh?!!”
