"Pa, please...nasa edad na ako. Kaya ko naman balansehin lahat eh. Kung papayagan niyo ako sisiguraduhin kong mas magiging cooperative ako at paghusayan ang pangangampanya ko."
Itinaas niya lang ang kilay niya.
"With all due respect Mayor Felipe, I won't meddle with her work. I will even support her." Sabi naman ni Mike.
Tahimik lang na inubos ni papa and wine niya.
"Thank you for coming for dinner Mike, I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here."
Papa tapped his shoulder and went up to his room. Naiwan kami sa baba ni Mike na laglag ang mga balikat at malungkot.
Bigla na lang ngumiti si Mike at nilapitan ako.
"Are you okay?"
"Always been."
"Don't worry about it."
Bigla niya lang ako niyakap. Hoy level up si koya mong Mike. Eeee usto ko to! Syempre napa yakap na rin ako. Jusko ang bango niya!
"Did you really mean what you said to him?" Tanong ko habang nakayakap pa rin sa kanya.
"Of course."
"So...if he allowed you to court me....will you stay here?"
"It really depends. Why? Does long-distance relationship bother you?"
Hala relationship agad di pa nga kita sinasagot diyan eh. Enebe.
"Actually? No it doesn't. Especially if you trust the person."
"So you trust me now, Isay?"
"Yeah a little."
"Haha a little -ok. I have few days left to impress you huh?"
"No need to impress me; you already did."
Ayun natahimik siya I looked up at looked at him- namumula na pala siya.
"My dad did not say anything about the courting thing but that doesn't mean its a no. To some people courting is old-fashioned but to me its showing respect to the parents. And you did that, Mike. So... thank you."
"In Thailand, we have huge repsect to our elders and parents. We even bow down to them to show our gratefulness."
"That is really an amazing trait."
"Isay, what happens if your dad will not allow me to be with you?"
"I will drop my candidacy then."
"No way. You will really do that for me?"
"Haha. Can I tell you something?"
