MIKE'S POV
"Mike...thank you."
Mayor Felipe tearfully said.
"I did nothing Mayor...I just helped in showing you what real potential Isay has. And I can assure you she can handle things. But you must try to loosen up to her. Let her feel that you are his father and not her Mayor."
All of a sudden he just hugged me. Ok. This is awkward. I am still so shy but anyways its progress. A good change.
Manong Luis helped in introducing and showing the teachers and staff to the Mayor. They gladly tell him about the curriculum and programs of the small charity school Isay founded. The Mayor was all-smiles.
We took a break and talked outside.
"This is such a beautiful place. How could Isay buy a lot here and to manage to build a charity school is beyond my imagination. She exceeded my expectations. She is like her mom. Secretive yet very dedicated."
"I am glad that you finally see Isay as she is. I hope you will continue to build a good daughter and father relationship."
"Thank you Mike. I really hope to see some change in me. And everything inside the house. So are you sure that you are not going back home yet?"
"This time, yes. I am certain. But I still need to go home after Aliwan to process my papers if I want to stay here."
"Good. You are a responsible tourist and citizen. And don't worry about your place here. You can stay in the house we have a guest room there."
"Wow. Khob khun krab Mayor!"
"You're welcome. I like Thai's. They are very respectful and friendly. And thank you for making Isay happy. Khob khun krab!"
"My pleasure, Mayor."
Then my phone rang. It is Isay.
"Hi I'm sorry I haven't called you yet."
"Its ok. Are you and Lee at the airport already?"
"Yes. In few minutes we will be boarding already" Mayor looked at me confused.
"Don't cry Isay. Go to your charity school later I have a surprise for you there."
"Really? What is that?"
"You'll see! Take care Isay!
Chan rhak khun!"
I asked the Mayor to stay and asked manong Luis to call nanay Lucy and tell Isay to come here. I can't wait to see her face when she sees me and her dad here.
ISAY'S POV
Napaganda ang tulog ko. Pag gising ko mag aalas nwebe na ng umaga. Ang lungkot. Napaka lungkot! Wala na si Mike. Kelan kaya siya makakabalik ulit dito? Pero ano kayang surprise nito? Hay ang sweet din pala ni Mike.
"Be! Bilisan mo ng kumain dyan dahil pupunta tayo sa school mo. Sabi ni Mike dalhin kita doon."
"Ok nay sandali lang. Nasaan si Papa?"
"Ah...eh maagang umalis eh may meeting daw sila ni Vice."
Ang weird. Papa never misses breakfast with me. Kahit anong meeting o trabaho pa yan. Pero di ko na masyado inisip kasi medyo nagiging ok na rin kami. Tsaka gusto kong maging matatag din siya para matagal ko pa siyang makasama. Gagaling pa si papa. I know gagaling siya.
Nakita ko ang isang bodyguard ni Papa at siya daw magmamaneho ng isang sasakyan sa amin ni Nanay Lucy.
"Nay, nasaan si Manong Luis? Di pa ba siya nakabalik?"
