Lysa made sure to stick close to Kaleo as they headed back to the Roscian District, where they lived. When they were far enough from Aureus Hospital, he spoke, his words trembling.
"I messed up again. I said stuff about saving my Dad, but I ended up arguing with him... again."
She held his hand. "Kaleo, I think... maybe both of you need more time to think about it."
"When will it be the right time?"
She gave his hand an encouraging squeeze. "It will surely come... one day."
Kaleo smiled sadly.
"Thank you, Lysa," he said. "Um... where are you heading now?"
"I have to head straight home and stay there."
"Oh... then can I come?"
"Sure," she agreed. "Thanks for accompanying me."
Kaleo scratched the back of his head. "It's nothing... um... why did you go to Aureus Hospital? I thought... you know."
"I... went to fulfill one of Caesar's wishes," Lysa responded. "He wanted to give some flowers to a patient."
"That's very kind of you to do that," he told her with a bright smile.
"T-thanks..." she mumbled, looking away.
At her apartment, she decided to do some tidying up - it was long overdue.
"Here, let me help you with that," Kaleo said as she took out some books from the shelf.
Nodding, she passed them to him. As he recieved it, he jerked back, not expecting the weight of the books. "Ouch..."
"Is it too heavy?" Lysa asked anxiously.
"Uh... not really." He placed the books on the table. "I think I got jabbed by something in my jacket..."
He patted his maroon jacket, trying to find the source of the object that jabbed him. "Weird..." he muttered. "There's nothing in the pockets but there's something there... oh."
There was a hidden pocket inside his jacket. Opening it, he took out the object and his eyes grew wide. "This is..."
Lysa was taken aback as well, recognising the rose keychain. "I have that same keychain."
"What?" Kaleo was shocked, and went over to compare his keychain to hers.
"Someone named Margaret gave it to me. She told me to look for Erin Dale too."
"I... see..." He looked at her seriously. "Lysa, do you know what this is?"
"No?"
"It's the symbol of Rosenberg."
"Rosenberg... then Margaret is a Rosenberg?" she spoke, her eyes wide. "Kaleo, where did you get yours?"
He scratched his head, trying to remember. "Um... I-" He paused in realisation. "My... mother. She gave me this jacket. And then she sent me a letter to check its pockets on my birthday..."
He looked up at her. "Does... that mean my mother is a Rosenberg? Was it why I never knew her birth surname?"
"What's wrong with being a Rosenberg?" Lysa asked, noticing his tense tone.
"Um... they don't have a good reputation historically... like Mayor Rosenberg, for example. If the people who hate them know that they are a Rosenberg... they might do bad things to them." He clutched his keychain tightly. "I see now why my mother told me not to show it to anyone..."
