Gods and Goddesses are associated in different aspects nearly all cultures throughout history. In Greek mythology, twelve gods and goddesses ruled the universe from atop Greece's Mount Olympus.

Orpheus as most talented music player of the ancient times was able to make his way to the underworld when he used it convincing Hades to release his true love Eurydice a nymph after Apollo his father talked to God of the Underworld, to accept him and hear his plea.
Armed with his weapons, the lyre and voice, Orpheus approached Hades and demanded entry into the underworld.

Hades agreed but only if Orpheus would lead his bride to the world of the living without looking back to make she was following him.

He made all the way to the surface before he couldn’t control himself and turned around. She was immediately taken back to the land of the dead for eternity.

Waves of anguish and despair swept over him and shuddering with grief he approached the Underworld again but this time, he was denied entry, the gates were standing shut and god Hermes, sent by Zeus, wouldn't let him in.
