1: A Birthday Visit

(3rd person)

Shuichi Saihara walked into his bedroom at a late hour with the novel he had been reading that he had gotten himself the week past.

The boy in question fell backwards onto his bed staring at his barley visable ceiling and sighed. It was his birthday tomorrow he was finally turning eighteen and had a feeling no one remember, they hardly did in previous years so why would they now?

Shuichi stood up from his bed and bent down to turn out the small light on his bed side table, he straightened his back and turned to his bed ready to actually lay down in it, when he heard something.

Knock Knock Knock

'Huh? Who could that be?' Shuichi thought to himself as he looked at his alarm clock on the table where the small light was. It read 12:00 AM in bright, bold, red letters, who in the world would be at his door at this time?

Shuichi marched down his stairs only in plain dark blue boxers and a black shirt. He turned on the lamp in the corner of his living room and opened his front door.

"Happy birthday Saihara-Chan!" A loud energetic voice exclaimed.

"Huh?" Shuichi looked down slightly to see one of his best friends Kokichi Ouma in panta themed boxers and a elbow length purple shirt on, hold a big box with dark blue and purple wrapping paper on it, with his head leaned up at him wearing a wide, cute, shut eyed grin.

"K-Kokichi? What are you doing here?" Shuichi said with a light blush on his face, to be honest the tall detective had a crush on the panta loving boy.

"I wanted to be the first to say happy birthday to you stupid head," Kokichi said shaking slightly, "now let me in, I've been out here for three hours waiting for it to be midnight."

"Three hours!?" Shuichi exclaimed, he put a hand on the shorter boys lower arm. "Your freezing get inside please."

Shuichi led Kokichi inside and shut the front door, locking it as well of course. He led the small boy to his couch and left for a short period of time to grab a blanket from his room.

When he got back downstair he saw Kokichi setting the box down on Shuichi's coffee table. Shuichi walked over and covered Kokichi with the blanket.

"Saihara-Chan hug me! I'll warm up faster if you do!" Kokichi exclaimed smiling.

"Huh? Kokichi why would you want that?" Shuichi asked.

"Waaaaaaaah! Saihara-Chan won't hug me!" Kokichi cried, tears running down his cheeks.

"N-no! I will! Please just stop crying Kokichi." Shuichi said frantically waving his arms.

"Yay! Come on then Shumai!" Kokichi exclaimed holding apart of the blanket up the tears magically gone.

Shuichi sighed slightly and sat down beside Kokichi. Kokichi frowned and sat on top of Shuichi's lap, leaning his head on Shuichi's chest.

"K-Kokichi!? W-What are you doing!?" Shuichi exclaimed with his face bright red.

"Trying to make you horny." Kokichi said calmly.

H-huh?!" Shuichi yelled his faced seemed to go more red at Kokichi's bazaar sentence.

"That was just a lie! Silly Shumai." Kokichi giggled.

Shuichi sighed in relief leaning his head on to the back of the couch. Then he felt a poke on his chest, he looked down and saw Kokichi staring up at him.

"Yes Kokichi?" Shuichi asked.

"Wrap your arms around me, I'm still cold." Kokichi said still staring at him.

Shuichi did what Kokichi basically demanded not wanting to upset him.

Kokichi gave Shuichi a big smile and leaned up and gave Shuichi's cheek a small kiss.

Shuichi froze as his face went as red as Leon's hair as processed what Kokichi just did to him.

"Now Shumai when we wake up you can open your gift ok?" Kokichi said while giggling.

Shuichi just nodded, looking back towards the wall.

"I love you Shumai." Kokichi said with a small smile on his face.

"H-huh? K-Kokichi are you lying again?" Shuichi asked looking slightly upset.

"Saihara-Chan thinks I'm lying about my undying love for him!" Kokichi cried burying his face into Shuichi's chest.

"No Kokichi! I-I just wanted to make sure you weren't trying to mess with my feelings." Spat out Shuichi in a desperate attempt to calm down the small boy in his arms.

"Oh does that mean Shumai loves me too?" Kokichi asked looking up at Shuichi with literal stars in his eyes.

"W-well maybe.. I-I mean! Um.. Oh jeez.." Shuichi couldn't make a proper sentence but Kokichi knew what Shuichi was trying to say.

"Show your thoughts through actions if talking is sooo hard for you Saihara-Chan." Kokichi said sitting up, knocking the blanket off of him, all while keeping his fixed on Shuichi.

Shuichi let out a nervous sigh as he put one of his hands on Kokichi's cheek and slowly moved his face closer finally connecting his lips to Kokichi's gently.

Shuichi's eyes fluttered closed as he savoured the kiss.

Kokichi's eyes on the other hand were wide as he hadn't expected Shuichi to actually do it. When he got over the shock he closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around Shuichi's neck.

The kiss turned into a small makeout session before they broke apart breathing heavily.

"I guess Shumai does love me back nishishi." Kokichi said laughing a bit at the end.

"Y-yeah I do." Shuichi muttered looking away.

"Well I'm your boyfriend now, got it?" Kokichi asked smiling.

"Yeah, I got it." Shuichi said with a big smile on his face.

"Good, now let's go to bed I'm tired Shumai." Kokichi demanded, a small yawn came out of his mouth afterwards.

"Alright Kichi." Shuichi said, smiling while standing up with his arms wrapped securely around Kokichi's waist, holding him close.

Kokichi wrapped his legs around Shuichi's own waist while resting his head on Shuichi's shoulder.

Shuichi smiled and carried Kokichi upstairs to his room. He set Kokichi into his bed, he had to wait a few before Kokichi let go of his neck though, when he did Shuichi covered Kokichi with the blanket.

He walked around to the other side of the bed and got into it himself. Shuichi felt Kokichi suffle closer and wrap his arms round his mid-section, pressing his forehead against Shuichi's chest giggling slightly. Shuichi smiled and wrapped his arms around Kokichi's small waist, putting his chin on Kokichi's head.

"I love you Shumai." Kokichi whispered.

"I love you too Kokichi." Shuichi whispered back, falling asleep.
