Chapter 10 – Churches and Bullets
The next day, I was woken up early by an incredibly loud banging to the door of the guest room I was staying in. "Scarlett! Scarlett!" A voice called out, "Ludovico will be visiting Cattedrale di Monreale today and uncle has forced him to take you." The voice continued.
"The Cathedral?!" I beamed sitting up straight on the bed, I immediately pulled the complimentary robe that came with the room on, and rushed to unlock the door where I saw a slightly sleepy but excited Mark.
"I just received news fifteen minutes ago." He confessed.
"It's almost five in the morning and Ludovico will leave at six on the dot." He informed.
I squealed in unbelief then jumped into Mark's arms, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"No worries just make sure you are standing in front of the house by three minutes to six, Ludovico hates tardiness." He said smiling.
"I promise!"
By ten minutes to six, I was walking outside of the humongous mansion to wait for Ludovico. After checking the weather earlier, I had opted for a long sleeved blush coloured chiffon dress that covered most of my body, but was light and airy and perfect for the sunny yet breezy day ahead.
Even though I was excited about going to Monreale, I was nervous to see Ludovico because last night at the pool when he caught me crying after my phone call to Zechariah, I ran as quickly as my legs could carry me to my room.
As I got to the entrance of the mansion, a black car was already prepared for the journey with two suited and armed men standing by it. My eyes immediately darted to the guns that were strapped to their waist, and slowly went up to see their stone cold faces.
"The fat American girl looks scared." One of them mocked in their native Italian language.
"I think she's a bit cute, but would look even cuter sucking my dick." The second one replied making both men burst into laughter.
I tightened my fists so I wouldn't swear and them and alert them to the fact that I understood the language. "Bonjour" I said feigning ignorance, "I am waiting for Ludovico." I sweetly said.
"She's dumb too! Stupid American." One of the men snorted.
"Is that how you treat guests of the Russo family?" A deep voice which I recognised to be Ludovico's roared in Italian.
"Sorry boss!" Both men responded before scurrying into the car.
"Why on earth are you dressed like Virgin Mary?" Ludovico queried looking at my outfit.
"Virgin Mary?" I gasped dumbfounded.
"First Minnie mouse, and now Virgin Mary." He teased, "I thought Americans were fashion forward."
