"We'll drop you off."Huh?
"What?" I asked, a bit frantic.
"I said we'll drop you off." Aiden repeated. Adam nodding at him, the both of them waiting for my reply.
I stared.
Didn't blink.
Didn't move.
Didn't open my mouth.
Just stared.
"Really?" I asked one more time, making sure I wasn't just hearing things. The only answer they responded to that was, pure, blank silence.
Finally, one of them responded, "We are dropping you off." Adam repeated, rather slowly.
I hesitated at first, but, a few moments later, stood up and nodded at them.
"Where's your car?" I asked no one in particular, adjusting my bag slung over my shoulder.
They turned to me, snickering.
Snickering?
"What?" I asked, eyeing them suspiciously.
Adam snickered. "We have to walk."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"The principal 'forbid' us from parking our cars in school." Aiden explained.
I stared at him, dumbfounded. He eventually cut on that I had no idea what he was talking about and continued. "We pranked him and that's supposed to be our punishment."
"Oh." I said, registering the words and nodding. "What are you going to use to drop me off then?"
"Stop asking questions and follow along. Our cars are at Starbucks." Adam answered as he began walking along side with Aiden to a direction I am currently unsure of.
Quickly, I ran to Aiden's side, and Mirrored their action.
As we walked, I couldn't help but wonder what stupid errand my dad had Jacob doing.
If only I could lock them in a room for two days straight...that'll make dad be nicer to Jacob, wouldn't it?
Of course, they wouldn't eat food for over 24 hours, but sacrifices need to be made once in a while, don't you think?
I really hope Jacob isn't in some other state trying to arrange documents my dad is too lazy to do himself.
I wish–
A small, yet painful shriek, snapped me out of my thoughts.
Wait....
Suddenly, i become frantic about where the shriek had come from. Repeatedly, I twisted my head from left to right.
I had no idea why I was suddenly becoming worried about whoever the shriek came from. It's not like it's illegal to scream. But that scream...that scream....it held so much pain.
Pain I felt strangely familiar with.
With no luck of finding where it had come from, I turned to Aiden and pulled his arm.
"What?" He asked, looking down at me.
"D-Do you hear that?" I asked, and he shrugged, his eyebrows starting to furrow.
"Hear what?"
Like on cue, the same scream came from an unknown direction. "That."
"What the...?" Aiden started, but was tuned out by me, trying so hard to find out where the scream came from.
