I stepped out of the car, leaving my brother and father getting our questionable large bags out. The gigantic smile and questioning eyebrows forming on my face was evidence enough that I was bewildered by the appearance of the modern house in front of us."Dad! You sure we got the right house? It looks a little too..." I didn't need to complete myself because my dad glanced away from the bags and unto the modern beauty.
He chuckled, "Yeah. It's the right house."
I couldn't believe it.
No, literally I didn't believe it so I walked to a different house.
"Ariel."
I halted to a stop at the stern voice of my dear father, then, slowly, walked back to my former position. "I might live, sleep and eat in this house, but those actions do not mean I believe it's ours."
With a shrug, dad turned away and continued what he had been doing.
"I'll be inside." Unlocking the door with the extra key I had 'borrowed' from dad a few minutes before we arrived, I turned the doorknob and carefully stepped in.
It was beautiful.
No, that's not right.
It was....bootiful.
Yeah that's sounds right.
I couldn't help but gasp as I gazed upon it's inner glory.
No one ask why I'm so in love with modern houses. But I'll still tell you, it's probably because of how much of it I built in Minecraft...
Plants helped decorate the house and it looked really natural. The solid walls were painted silver and I could tell the texture was really smooth. Boxes were scattered all over the large room with some of our family pictures placed next to them. The room was split into 4; the kitchen area, the coffee table and TV area (Which is basically the living room) , the stairs area and the dinning area (Which was oddly big considering it was only going to be me, my dad and my brother living in this house.)
After touching most of the things, and hopefully not breaking any of them, I stalked up the stairs and made sure to touch the banister as well.
When I reached up the stairs, I glanced at the left which was a dead end, so I proceeded to the right.
On the right were four doors, and I narrowed my eyes in confusion at the extra wooden door. We were only three and I noticed two doors downstairs for visitors so what was the need for an extra one upstairs?
The thought shouldn't need to bother me so, I shrugged it off, and turned to look for a yellow doorknob. I finally found it and pushed the door open.
The room was oddly big, slightly occupied, but had enough space for two beds. I spotted a wardrobe at the corner of the room and a table next to a mattress. The table had a chair next to it and a lamp on top of it.
I noticed lots more things, but decided to not bore you with details. I was about to see how bouncy the bed could be when the door banged open.
"Ariel, it's time for dinner." Jacob, my brother, called.
"Okay, I'll be out in a sec." I assured him, reaching for my pocket. He nodded then closed the door as he left.
"Just one more thing to make this home," I murmured to myself. I pulled a picture of a tall dark-skinned woman hugging two little girls. A wide smile was placed on the woman's lips and the little girls both had goofy grins.
Coincidentally, there was a glue gun on the table and I took it in one hand. I stared at the picture for a moment, before flipping it over and applying the glue.
