Edward & June

For Real

I eminently stopped in my tracks and slowly turned my head back to him. "What did you say?"

"I love you June."

"You mean like as a friend right?" I said sounding defeated.

"No, like I want to be with you and protect you."

I was at a loss for words, ever scene the day I met him I had wanted to hear him say that. But he probably doesn't know what he's talking about, as much as I wanted to tell him that I love very much I just didn't know what to say, until I thought of something.

"Edward where did you find out about love?"

"I asked Peg."

"Why?"

"Well when ever I see you I feel all funny inside......and warm."

"Really?"

"Yes, and I just want to be with you and kiss you and I want to make sure that no one will hurt you."

"Oh Edward," I said as I sat beside him on the bed holding back tears of joy, "I love you to."

I bent down to him as our lips met again, we kissed over and over and to my surprise Edward used some tong. So I used some tong back, we sat there for awhile kissing.

"Do you feel better now dear?"

"Yes, I love you."

"My sweet Edward, I love you to. Lets go back outside."

"Ok." 

We made our way back outside arm in arm, I gave a soft giggle and leaned my head down on his shoulder. I placed a small peck on him cheek, Edward blushed and gave me a warm smile. Mrs. Peg found us in the crowed of people ,who were still here, and gave us that I-know-something-good-just-happened look. 

"Mrs. Peg when did Edward talk to you about love?"

"Yesterday, he came to me with all sorts of questions about how he felt towards you. And I did my best to give him good answers."

"I told June that I love her." Edward said softly, with some slight pride.

"Oh Edward did you?" And what did you say June?"

"You know that I've loved sense the day I met him."

"I'm so happy for you two, I have to talk to the ladies now, oh you two are so cute." She said as she trailed off.

"Are we in a relationship now June?"

"Yes Edward we are." 

"Like Mike and Peg?" He asked.

"Well not quite dear, see were not married.......yet. Were what you call boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Are we going to get married?"

"Well.....*giggle* maybe someday if we both want to."

"I want to."

"Oh Edward in the future I want to, we only started being in a relationship today." 

"Ok in the future."

I slightly giggled at the thought that he wants to get married right away, dear boy. I was the happiest I had ever been in my whole life and somehow I could tell that he was to. Yes, one day I do want to marry him and have a life with him. I never thought that any man would ever want to have a life with me, but Edward was different, he was special, he was mine and I was finally his.

"Did hear a relationship over here?" I heard Joyce's wicked voice ask.

"Yes, you heard right you old cougar!" I said forcefully stepping in front of Edward. "So as long as I live you will never be able to seduce him, do I make my self clear!"

"Oh honey, I can seduce what ever man I want, never mind his relationship status." She said slyly as she blew the smoke from her cigarette in my face. She turned on her heals and walked away.

"Did that woman hurt you?" Edward asked full of concern.

"No *cough* no she didn't, I'm *cough* ok, thank you.

"Your welcome my girlfriend."
