     It’s been a week

It’s been a week. Every day it felt like that friend group found a new way to annoy me. I have had enough. The next time one of them decides to bother me, I’m going to get a few words in.

The teacher calls my name and asks me to deliver something for another teacher. I nod and, taking the item, go to the classroom specified. And then I realize who’s classroom this is.

I groan inwardly and open the door. I quickly walk to the teacher, explain what my teacher told me and try to leave without looking at any of the students. But my plan fails as the teacher stops me before I can leave the room.

“Actually, before you go, can you take these with you? Your teacher asked for them a few days ago and I never got to it. Chang, you go with her.”

I nod before walking over to one of the three boxes. I manage to lift one, but I can’t lift another. “Chang” comes over and picks up the other two. Chang turns out to be the apology guy.

I lead the way back to my classroom. I could have sworn I heard a few snickers in the classroom as we left. I roll my eyes.

“Why does your friend group like to bother me so much?” I ask Chang.

     He froze. “I… uh… I don’t know…” That’s a lie.

I stop walking and turn around to face him. “Why are you lying?”

He sighs. “Well, that time when Bongsu ran into you, and I was just trying to be respectful by apologizing, he for some reason thought I liked you. So he told everyone and now they’re trying to tease me.”

“By bothering me, they’re teasing you?” I ask, not really believing all of it. I scoff and turn around to continue walking. “Just make them stop. They’re acting like middle schoolers.”

We reach my classroom and I open the door with my foot and my teacher smiles. She shows us where to put the boxes, and I sit down in my seat. A few of the girls look over at me but I don’t care. They’re probably just gonna ask about “Chang.”

Class carries on as usual, and I can’t help but get the feeling like they won’t stop bothering me. Sure enough, the next day I’m tripped in the hallway.

It’s the flirty dude from before. He attempts to catch me. By that I mean, he puts his arm in front of me and makes me fall into an awkward downward dog position. I manage to stand back up and shoot him a glare.

“That’s it. I’m telling the teachers. You guys need to stop bothering me.”

The guy’s eyes widen and he backs up. I scoff and can’t contain my eye roll. Is he serious? I can’t believe this. Then someone taps my shoulder. I slowly turn around to see Chang.

     “I’ll talk to him.”

Excuse me? “You’ll talk to him? I asked you to stop this insanity yesterday.” I can’t help but wish pain upon this dude. So I go for the tame route and grab his ear to ensure he looks at me. He winces. “I am sick and tired of this. If you know what's good for you, you’ll put an end to this.”

He nods immediately and I remove my hand from his ear. I turn and walk away without glancing back.
