I glance back at the door. Where is she? She wouldn't say anything yesterday. I need to make sure she's okay.
And then she enters the classroom. She's smiling. Oh thank goodness. She looked distressed yesterday.
"Hae-in!" I call to her, waving her over.
She waves at me before walking over. She sits in her seat with a happy sigh. Then she proceeds to lay her head on her arm and draw circles on the desk with the tip of her finger.
"Something happened." I say.
Yesterday she was upset. Head on her desk, wouldn't talk. Now she's probably the happiest she's been in a while. I can explain with one thing, but that doesn't seem right this time.
"Something new has come into your life, and I don't think it's a cat." I continue.
She nods and looks up at me. Before sighing again. "Well, he's coming to pick me up after school today, so you can meet him then."
"Him? Wait did you find your soulmate?" She nods again. "Wow congratulations! How did you meet?"
“Well, it’s kinda a long story. But he did first meet me at the cafe.”
“That’s really cute.”
