NOT ME FORGETTING I DIDNT POST THIS FIDLFKDNFKFKWKF

~*~

Idk why I made this I just went into John kinnie mode and started thinking about this so I thought I'd share

You can build upon on this or whatever just try to keep arguments to the minimum

So as someone who deeply relates to John and loves thinking about perspective ( especially since it helps in writing ) so like I normally do I started looking at things from John's perspective and this happened.

Let's start off with John's family. He doesn't have any known mother and it appears he might not even remember her if she was in his life at all. As for William, as far as we know he's doesn't have an ability so using this I came to the following conclusion:

1.
William is a single father so he'd have to work more to provide for him and John ( more than usual since he's also a cripple ) so he wouldn't be around often. Since John also doesn't have a mom this could lead to him feeling forgotten and hasn't gotten allot of attention especially as a kid since kids are usually more dependent on their parents.

So there's a good chance he might want a certain amount of attention ( I say a certain amount cause he doesn't like having all eyes on him all the time ) as a way to make up for the lack of it in his childhood

2.
As far as we're aware John got his ability from his mom and he has no mom in his life. That being said combining this with being beaten up and treated terribly his whole life he'd have no 'role model' with an ability other than others at school or on TV.

I know that allot of higher tiers are cocky but we have to remember that William is a cripple and John is a god tier so there's a very high possibility John's mom didn't care for the hierarchy.

That being said, this already leads to a perfectly logical reason to why he's so violent.

The following things also support this:

1.
Seeing as John has only known violence he would naturally assumed the only way to get things done is to be violent. Once again this can also be linked back to the no real role model with an ability in his life.

2.
Each character has done some pretty terrible shit that would prevent him from empathizing with them.

Ex:

Elaine was two faced right off the bat. This can be traced back to the Claire ( they do look kinda similar ngl ) who he hates for betraying him. While he might not have hated Elaine solely for being two faced the connection he could've made between the two would definitely have added to that hatred.

Seraphina was just immature, disrespectful, and a terrible friend in general. She didn't really do anything to protect John when he was pretending to be a cripple while John would've have died for her. And before someone comes at me saying "oh but she still had her god tier perspective" or whatever that isn't a valid argument, here's why.

It doesn't really matter what her perspective is. By the time the story starts she's already broken out of her obsession to be perfect thanks to John and befriended someone who was said to be a cripple. So she was already throwing the social system out of the window at that point. If she still had her god tier perspective she wouldn't have befriended John. Not to mention that regardless of her views John was her friend. Real/good friends would do anything to help their friend because they care about them. (I have some more points related to this but this isn't about their friendship)

As for why she was immature and disrespectful.

She found about John's past. From Claire.

Some people might not see the problem with that so I'll explain.

Instead of waiting for John to be comfortable enough to talk to her about it and reassuring him he could talk to her about anything she went to Claire who doesn't even know his side of the story or how he really felt.

She was prying into her friend's past without permission from John himself. A past that traumatized John. Which brings us to our next point:

She found about John's past and could've probably gotten an idea of how much it could've hurt him but instead of talking with him and slowly helping him feel better she chose to yell at him for lying to her and abandon him.

Arlo is pretty obvious. He's an asshole who used his power to try and put John in his place and blamed him when things went wrong instead of admitting to his actions and apologizing or just not ambushing him in the first place since he already knew how strong he was.

Blyke is also an asshole who abused his power but im tired and don't wanna go into what he did.

Isen, similar to Arlo and Sera, abused his position to interview John on his past and when that didn't work he went behind John's back and looked into his past.

Remi was definitely one of the better people in this and Im sure John recognized this but at the same time was still bad. Once again Im hella tired it's literally 11 pm

Claire is one of the worst people.

Sure she ambushed John to stop his destructive rule as king but there were other things she could've done earlier on.

When John first started showing signs of aggression, hell when he first developed the ability she should've sat him down every once and awhile to remind him on how to use the ability to be better than his old bullies. Instead she focused on safety and let John get worse.

Adrion is also at fault here but he gets a little leeway because he didn't notice John's behavior until it was too late and he doesn't have clairvoyance as an ability.

Im really bored so this is over for now. I might make more but idk
