The screaming from the movie woke Murdoc, causing him to jump slightly. He frantically searched for the remote, turning the TV off. He looked over to his side, seeing Stuart still soundly asleep. He was curled up under the blanket that was covering most of his face.

He looked so peaceful, his eyelashes gently resting onto his face. Murdoc's instinct told him to grab onto him, hold him, and never let him go. How would he react? He wondered, imagining how Stuart's hand would wrap around his neck, hugging him back as Murdoc ran his fingers up and down his back.

Murdoc sighed at the stupid daydream, he really didn't want to wake him, but judging by how dark it was out it was probably around midnight. "Stu," he whispered, sitting up on the sofa, lightly nudging his leg. No reaction. "Stu," he repeated louder, "2D!" he yelled, causing Stuart to jump up, "I'm up!" he shouted, frantically looking around confused, it almost made him feel guilty. "Thought you were dead there for a sec," Murdoc chuckled.

Stuart looked like it took him a while to realize where he was,"Shit, fell asleep," Stuart groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Yeah we did.. it's getting late, I should probably head home." Murdoc said, even though he really didn't want to go back home and face his father.

"No!" Stuart blurted to Murdoc's surprise, "I mean, it's late and we have school tomorrow," he explained, "Also, your dad.." he carefully added, pulling his knees to his chest. Murdoc initial reaction was anger at the mention of his dad, it was no secret that he had anger issues. Had it been anyone else he probably would have kicked them in the face.

But as he had promised, he would never hurt Stuart. Not again, at least. As kids, he would take out his anger on the smaller boy from time to time. He never beat him or anything, but he would throw punches here and there if he annoyed him in the slightest. Murdoc seriously couldn't wrap his head around why Stuart bothered to stick by him. At least he protected him from the other kids.

In all the years that had passed, nothing had ever pissed him off more than when someone hurt Stuart. Sure, his dad was an actual dickhead, he got into fights with other kids, the teachers pissed him off, basically, everything pissed him off. But nothing had ever filled him with as much rage as when someone hurt his Stu.

Murdoc shrugged, "I'll be fine, always 'am." he tried assuring him. He felt pathetic, not wanting to be pitied. Stuart looked nervous, picking at the skin on his thumb. Murdoc was about to open his mouth again before being interrupted. "No, you'll stay here." he insisted. Murdoc was about to argue, but it seemed like Stuart was really determined.

Besides, Murdoc didn't actually want to leave, he just didn't want to admit it. "Fine, I'll take the sofa." he sighed. "No, you're my guest, I'm not making you sleep on the sofa." Stuart argued, "You'll sleep in my bed, I'll take the sofa." Murdoc rolled his eyes, "It's your house, you're not sleeping on the sofa."

"Fine, we'll sleep together." Stuart said as he got up from the couch. Murdoc's stomach exploded with butterflies as a light blush spread across his face. Luckily it was pretty dark in the room. Get your shit together, he thought to himself as he got up, following Stuart up the stairs.

"I'll see if I've got a spare toothbrush," Stuart said followed by a yawn, Murdoc struggled to keep a chuckle in at Stuart's lisp. They walked into the bathroom, and Murdoc couldn't help but to feel a bit awkward. He kept wondering if Stuart felt the same.

Stuart grabbed a toothbrush from the cabinet, handing it to Murdoc. He looked half asleep as he started brushing his teeth. Murdoc stood next to him, doing the same. He glanced at the sleepy blueberry in the mirror, his eyes half-shut.
