Yvette's P.O.V.

Hindi magawang iwan ng mga mata ko ang mga mata niyang parang nakita ko na pero hindi ko ma-wari kung saan o kailan ko nakita. He's now looking at me with a curious face wanting to ask what's with the way I look at him, but he remained silent.

Nang dahil hindi pa ako tapos na i-examine ang mga mata niya. Nang mapansin kong nawi-weirduhan na siya sa akin ay inalis ko ang tingin ko at ibinaling sa cake na gawa ni mamita ang atensiyon ko.

It was a red velvet cake, but it tasted something extraordinary na ngayon ko lang natikman. Ineed the best red velvet cake I've ever tasted. I saw Nahj watching me eating and it made me feel uncomfortable. He's done eating, but went for another slice.

I see... he's a heavy eater despite of having a well-toned body--- na siyempre, hula ko lang. I actually don't care about these stuffs running in my mind right now. For example, his body, educational background, his childhood... anything.

I'm never curious, really. But why do I get the feeling that he's worth the curiosity?

"Hija, how's the cake?" it was Tita Nadia, Nahj's mom.

"It tastes really really really delicious po. The sweetness was just right. It's perfect." she smiled and Nahj laughed. Feeling ko tuloy, I sounded so plastik kahit totoo namang masarap.

"I'm glad you liked it. That's my Nahj's favorite." she smiled and I replied with a small laugh.

Marami silang napagku-kwentuhan na minsan, hindi ako nakakarelate, they were talking something about mahjong and their amigas. I never knew my Mom was into mahjong until now.

"So!" nabigla ako kaya muntik ko nang maibuga ang iniinom kong tubig, "Why don't you breathe some fresh air sa garden, right?" I unconsciously made face and I'm sure Nahj saw it. Nang magsasalita na sana ako, Nahj interrupted.

"Tita, it's okay. It can wait, Yvette's still enjoying mom's red velvet." he chuckled while wiping the side of his mouth. I secretly rolled my eyes at him, because he's starting to annoy me by mocking me.

"No, it's okay. I'm done." I looked at him and stand up from my seat, "Let's go. I'll show you our garden." I smiled at him nearly closing my eyes and he was smiling the whole time he stand up hanggang sa kasama ko na siyang naglalakad.

Nang marating naming ang gate ng garden ni Mommy, it was locked. So I was about to go back and ask for the keys when I saw Nahj, lock-picking the lock.

"Magnanakaw ka ba?" I asked him when he successfully unlocked the gate after only for a few minutes. He looked at me and laughed so loud and I must admit that he looks like a softie.

"Well, here you are wanting to get to know me by firstly asking me that question?" I nod with a full seriousness on my face. I'm not joking, I can't judge a person by its looks, 'no.

"Well, I'm not a theif, but---"

"Then are you a criminal---"

"Hell, no. It's Captain Nahj for you, Yvette." Napanganga ako at wala sa sariling natignan ko siya mula ulo hanggang paa. If I may describe him, he freakingly looked like a dashing prince who you'd never thought would be a Captain.

"How did that happen?"

"How?" he laughed at my question, "It's a long story, don't even get me started." I did not have a follow up question, because I don't want to invade his privacy. Tumango nalang ako at naglakad papasok sa garden. It was a full-glass garden.

"I wonder how much you spent for this big as f uck garden."

"I don't know. My mom is crazy for building something like this, but I like it, so it's just okay... I think?" I laughed. Unsure if I really tolerate my mom in building this, wala na rin namang mababago. It's here, so might as well love it too.

"You're an architect..." Hindi ko siya pinansin, dahil I assumed naman na he did some background check before meeting me, "Independent and job stable. You're single. What do you think about us dating?" tinignan ko naman siya at nakita ko siyang mukhang hindi naman nagbibiro sa sinabi niya.

"I thought you'd been force to come here to meet me." I said and laughed as I sat on the bench made out of wood.

"That wasn't wrong, but not fully right too." He answered and I nod.

"You're in politics too, kasi you're already a captain. I am an agnostic when it comes to that, plus, I don't want to be involved with the family associated with the government, Nahj." I honestly said and I saw right eyebrow raised.

"I'm not in the dirty side, though."

"Politicians are liars." I laughed.

"Are you referring to the lawyers---"

"Everyone lies though, so yes." I shrugged.

It was a full minute of silence, but it was just comfortable for me. Maya maya pa, his phone rang and he excused himself, but didn't move from his place. Base on the words I've heard from his response, it was the politics jargons, so it's work.

"I can't right now. I'm with my girlfriend." Agad kong ipinalibot ang tingin ko. Hindi ko alam kung hindi niya ako naririnig, pero shit siya. Bakit ang confident niya lang sa sarili niya?

Nang ibaba niya ang tawag, agad ko siyang tinignan ng masama and he pretended not knowing what he just said seconds ago.

"What?"

"Whatever, Nahj." I said and rolled my eyes atsaka kinuha ang cellphone ko at nagtipa ng message para i-send kay Mommy. I told her I'm hungry so she could ask someone to send food in here, para magkaroon ng ibang tao sa garden na ito.

"So what about my question?" he asked and Iaughed.

"You're serious about that?" he nodded and smiled.

"I just met you today. You seem nice, but no." I laughed and he did too. I didn't say it in an offending way kasi and he knows I would say no, because I believe he won't ask me if he knew I'd say yes agad agad. Kasi for me, he's the type of guy who would run from commitment if ever it's approaching.

Lol, kawawa naman maiinlove sa lalaking 'to.
