it had been two weeks since the night party and jian hadn't seen jungwon once. it would've been a lie to say that she wasn't interested in him, but the fact that she never saw him at school made her slowly, really slowly forget about him. to be honest, that just meant he wasn't the only thing on her mind. yujin had been told by sunghoon (no one knows how they even got to know each other) about the situation she was in and she demanded jian to tell her everything.
"but there's really nothing to say."
yujin wouldn't buy it. she was convinced that her friend was interested in this boy. yujin smirked and thought about all her ideas on how to bring the two together.

the girl walked down the aisles between the shelves, scanning past the arrays of books. to be honest, even she didn't understand her sudden desire to read something, but she allowed it. reading helped a lot in the sense that she could learn to read faster and process information at a faster rate. then, she stopped in front of a particular book. it seemed pretty new or it was just never read. it was as if the book was calling out to her, telling her to read it. she smiled slightly to no one really before trying to reach for the book.
as cliche as it sounds, her height was just not tall enough to get the book out. she had to resort to jumping, yet her fingers only just touched the top of the book. she didn't have enough coordination to pull it out while jumping and just as she tried to jump once more, a hand reached above her head, taking out the book she wanted. she turned around, only to be met with a boy's chest. the boy looked down, failing to realise the awfully close proximity. in fact, he was confused as to why she was so quiet. the girl couldn't bare to look at him without having her heart race even faster when looking at him. but with courage, she took a glance at the boy who was staring at her. only when she took the courage to look straight up at him did he realise the gap between them was extremely close. he took a step back and shyly held out the book.
"you looked like you needed some help."
she nodded, still slightly flustered.
"thank you, jungwon."
he smiled and then noticed her tie. it was of a different colour to his.
"you're in the grade above?"
she looked at him before realising he was talking to her.
"oh, yeah. i'm in second grade."
he nodded, slightly fascinated and then it fell awkward again. The boy awkwardly said bye before heading off and girl didn't even have time to say bye back because he had already left.
he's cute.
