Canada's pov

"You never wear blue plaid, what's the occasion?" "I'm going on a date." "Ohh, who's the lucky.. person?" "Ukraine." "Hey, wait, isn't inter-country relationships rare? And don't they normally not work out?" "thanks for the vote of confidence united." he just smiles and gives me a thumb up.

"well, it's 5:45, better getting going." "K, see ya."

Ukraine's pov

Japan had volunteered to drive me and Canada to the restaurant since neither of us had a car. She had pulled up to Canada's house and after a few minutes she entered the car and sat next to me.

She wasn't wearing any makeup, did she even have a makeup set? Doesn't matter, she looks beautiful anyway. I blushed, not knowing what to say, and I think she didn't other.

When we got to the restaurant, I realized that it was just called the Ukrainian restaurant. How original. We entered, and the restaurant, that was noisy, went entirely silent. someone, who I could only assume was the owner, came up to me and shook my hand and said, "oh my Its a pleasure to have you here. I've always wondered when you would show up. And canada, thank you, for being open to anybody, my family moved to your country to escape war." "Uhh, you're welcome." "So, what brings you to here today?" "Well, me and Canada are on a date." I said.

If it wasn't already quiet, it was now deafening. "Well, since my two favorite countries choose my restaurant to go on your first date, its on the house." "Wait really?!" "Oh no, you don't  have to do that." Canada chimed in.

"I insist. Let me show you two, to your table."

We were sat down, and given a menu,

and asked what we want. "I'll have the potato cheddar perogies and iced tea." Said Canada. "I'll have the borsch soup."

"So, you like me as much as I like you, huh." Wait wat "you-u're into me-e as well?" Well, she does seem happier when she's with me.

"Uh, so.. why me? I mean, you've got plenty of Allies, why not Belgium or the Netherlands, why me?" She sat there for a moment, collecting her thoughts.

"You know how you feel attracted to someone, like, not because of the way they dress, or their body shape, but their personality. They my not be the most fit, or wearing the newest clothes, but their personality fits perfectly with yours. I mean, there's 7.6 million people on this planet, and somewhere, you might find the right person. And for me, that's you." I sat there, stuned for a moment.

"Couldn't have put it better myself."

After taking for a while, our food arrived. "Huh, this looks like it's homemade." Canada said.

"Well, it does seem to be a family run restaurant, so it wouldn't surprise me." "so, how is Belarus and Kazakhstan?" "They're doing fine, still a little shaken of what happened two weeks ago, but we'll get through this."

"I've been mostly telling you about myself, how about you tell me about you."

"Lets see, uh, do you want a basic summary or should I go on for a few hours?" "Well, since we're in public, I suggest a basic summary."

"Alright, in 1917, I was born out of a war for independence, or re-birth, in a quite literal sense. This war was me against the German empire, Soviet Russia and Poland. We won in 1921, only to get added to the Soviet union next year. I was with him untill August 1991."

"Uh there was the a revolution, caused by a rigged election. Back in 2004, the people wanted to be apart of the European Union. But Viktor Yanukovych, the current Prime Minister at the time, wanted better ties with Russia."
