The day after the empire captured the aquatic capital, Edelgard summons the other members of the Black Eagle Strike Force to inform them Byleth's fate is sealed and tell them the reason why, shocking them in the process. However, by the end of the month, not only are Randolph's suspicions about the knights planning to take back the monastery confirmed, but the surprise attack is doubled by the arrival of the knights and the kingdom army, with the knights being led by Rhea and the kingdom army being led by Dimitri, who brought Byleth with him, intending to have her kill both Ladislava and Randolph, which meant the empire will lose two generals in the process. He gives her the task and she walks away to get their attention, but during the fight, Byleth is put at a disadvantage due to their strength, so Dimitri comes to her aid and kills Ladislava while Byleth kills Randolph. She is wounded by him in the process, but she survives her wounds, so Dimitri takes her to a healing spring to heal her wounds and it doesn't take very long for her wounds to heal enough for her wounds to fully heal in the castle's healing room.
