ben's POV
Present time:
I rolled out of my bunk and got in my medium-sized tent that can withhold a load to put on it. I looked around and you knew It the other people that came hiking were still sleeping nicely in their bunks.
I crawled out of the warmth of my sleeping bag and unzipped the zipper on my tent and I flipped my shoes upside down just in case someone pranked by a dropping a jelly sandwich in my shoe (Mostly consider Mike). I then put my shoes up and looked at the sky, I noticed it was dark and grey, unlike the other days. I knew it was going to rain.
I quickly packed my back and neatly rolled my tent, I rummaged through my bag and found my heavy-duty portable cooker, a nice package of pasta and a bottle of fresh tomato juice. I then put some water in a cup and dumped into the pot and then dumped half of the tomato juice inside. As I waited my mouth watered as I saw the juice slip into the pasta.
As it was almost ready to eat, I heard a faint shuffling in the bushes nearby my tent. I knew it bears! As I jumped into my tent abandoning my food I then ran into my tent for cover and laid as flat to the ground as possible.
I looked at my food steaming hot and ready to eat, but I wasn't going to risk it. I then looked up it wasn't a bear it was a dog?! It was dirty and you could see its ribs from a mile away. Its breed was a golden retriever and labrador mix. I looked at the chaos where my food was and when the dog got close it flipped the pan and the pan fell to the ground pouring the pasta onto the ground and it was like a mountain of pasta.
As the dog dug in when it got full it left leaving some pasta on the ground with mud and dirt. I thought, there goes my breakfast. I then cleaned my pasta and cooked it again eating it, it never tasted like the pasta I made before. I thought dogs in the wild are driven mad a hacking into campers bags and eating everything the campers made, I was sad for the dog but sometimes I got to be more protective over my food.
As I then got up and ate 3 mars bars from my bag, as I packed up and left notes in every tent but noticed that Erica's tent was gone as well as Joshua's. I then left walking all by myself. I put on one of my heavy-duty coats that preserve heat keeps the cold and water out.
I then walked and walked until I noticed I walked here before. I pulled out my map while walking and when I pulled it out from the plastic bag I had to use immense force to pull it out. But this time it wouldn't come out, I then got my water filtration out to help and I easily pulled my waterproof map. I then kneaded down on my knees and put my water filter on the ground beside the river.
I then looked at my map I knew it I went the wrong way as a failure, what Joshua called me every time. I then tried putting my map back but slipped knocked my water filtration into the water, I then dropped the bag that had my maps and they fell into the river as well. I jumped in to catch them but missed a quickly jumped out leaving me with the map and water filtration lost in the river.
I then walked the other way around ad started on a new journey, I looked up and it was dark. I walked quickly but the storm was too fast and later I was in the middle of a horribly bad storm.
