"They are gone, I'm sorry"...

"This is the truth"...

"They are not coming anymore"...

"They lost their lives in the war"...

"They were heroes"...

"You should be proud of them"...

They told so many things, they told me I had to be strong, and they told me...that the feeling of loss, the feeling of being alone would go away through time.

But it never did.

It's still here, breaking me apart, little by little, day by day. They're not gone, I...I still feel their magic! Their presence! It's far away, but it's still there! Through the years I've been searching, soldiers that never came home, lost bodies, empty coffins, war prisoners. They have to be somewhere...They are alive, and i'm going to prove it.

Mom, dad...I promise
I'll find you.

I closed my journal and looked at the ceiling, It's time to go to school huh. My mind is a complete mess these days, something is telling me that i'm more close to the truth that I had ever been. But now, I have to concentrate on school, maybe I can find something about the war in the city's library when the class ends.

"Are you ready Thyri?" Ida said knocking at the door "Yeah, I am...". I looked in the mirror, the new uniform was good tho, a white long sleeve shirt, a black blazer with the school's emblem on it, and a black tie. The bottom part the students could use whatever they like, so for me, I took some jeans pants with blue flames, that I had drawn and painted, on it, and a blue high top sneaker to match.

"Let's go, I can still leave you at your school's building before my class starts" I said picking my backpack and going downstairs "Sis, you don't need to do that, seriously, you can go" "It's just the first day of school and you're pushing me away like this? Wow, what an amazing little sister" I said dramatically and she rolled her eyes at me

"Stop! Don't be like this!" she said hitting my arm while laughing "You need to go to your school, I know you want to protect me, but...you can't do this forever Thyri..." She stopped in front of me, she looked sad, but she still smiled "...You can't do this alone..."

"I did this all these years Ida, I won't stop now" "I-I'm not..." she closed her eyes and took a deep breath "I'm not saying for you to stop, I know you, you're like this" she smiled softly "But what I'm saying is, I can protect myself now"

I looked at her surprised, of course I know Ida is strong, it's not just the strength of the punches that count, Ida was always strong in mind, she was the first one in the family to move on five years ago, she didn't forget, she moved on.

She continue to live just like when our parents were here, she made us happy even when we said that happiness was gone. She is stronger than me in these situations, she'll always be.

"...Just let me know you're safe when you get there okay?" I said trying to smile, but she smiled brightly and hugged me "I'll leave a message, I promise!" "Yeah, yeah, I'll pick you up when my class ends okay?" "All right!".
